Jasmer Challenge?
I found this in my Mygeocachingprofile.com profile. The Jasmer Challenge appears to be all about logging caches placed in every month since geocaching all began.
Without even knowing about it I appear to have found caches placed in 108 of 131 months. Interesting idea. Obviously the trickiest ones to get are caches in 2000. Got May (Lane Cove), October (Queens Land - quite recently actually) and November (Sydney's Geocache Relocated) but the rest are blank.
In 2001 I've only got March, June and November. In 2002 I've got 7 out of 12 months.
Then there's just the odd month missing in 03 and 05 with all other years completed.
I would guess the cachers who have been around since the beginning and are still going would have the full complement. Also anyone with 2000 finds or so would probably have it by random chance by now.
Anyway it's something else interesting to look for. I'll have to work out where some of the older caches are to fill the gaps.

Hmmm.... will have to try to grab those while over here! Already got June - GC43, Europe's First here in Ireland. Missing 5 in 2000, 5 in 2001, and 1 in both 02 and 03caughtatwork wrote:You'll need to head OS.

The other one is the "Days of the Year Placed" (Find a Cache published on that calendar day) By complete fluke I have only 2 left! Feb 9th and the Hardest on, Feb 29th
Re: Jasmer Challenge?
How do I get the stats for which months I've covered? Is this another wonderful GCA statistic somewhere - Finds by Hidden Month?
Maybe the easiest way to get some of the older dates is to get something unarchived

That used to exist, but I don't know where it's gone.
Let me finish with the pathtags I got today and I'll have a quick look.

Re: Jasmer Challenge?
Yep. State Floral Emblems are arriving.
Unfortunately of the 7 sets I have received so far, there are 138 tags that are simply not fit for purpose. The white writing is severely underfilled to the point where some of the writing is not filled at all. I've written to pathtags to ask that the 138 be replaced. UI have 7 more sets arriving next week, so there's probably more poor filling in those too as they are all pretty much identical designs. ::sigh::

You can get there from your Cacher Page, then select Graphs, then select Finds By Month Hidden.
Enjoy.
Re: Jasmer Challenge?
There'd have to be an opportunity in there somewhere for someone to start a business selling PTs that didn't have so many production problems you must have the patience of a saint C@W!
And a BIG thanks for the stats

That gives me a massive skyscraper for December 2010! I wonder what that was...caughtatwork wrote:Well, I don't know what I did with the original, but there's a new one nowcaughtatwork wrote:That used to exist, but I don't know where it's gone.

Of course 'the' Jasmer challenge is GC only...

Re: Jasmer Challenge?
I seem to be doing pretty well, only missing June-October and December 2000. Well apart from this month but the event his weekend will fix that.
Getting those older ones may never happen, as by the time I get overseas to where there are some they might well have disappeared.

Rats
We dont appear to have a cache placement for South Australia in March 2001.
Alex you have some explaining to do.
It appears that this is the only monthly gap this state has since it started caching in 2001.

Re: Jasmer Challenge?
I've discovered another silly sounding challenge in my profile from that site. The Alphanumeric Challenge - to find a cache placed by a cacher with a name starting with every letter of the alphabet and every number so 36 categories.
Without even knowing about it we've got every letter except Q and X but only 3 out of 10 numbers as very few cachers start their name with a numeral it seems.
Another one not to care about.
Geocaching seems to generate more stats than cricket!
