Ahhh... I see my account is still active...
but I do seem to have been removed as a moderator of several groups... which is probably fair enough...
Found a couple of caches today with minileek, and might revisit this hobby after a long while of absence.
I might even check out and reactivate my caches on gc.com...
What's changed in the last 4 years? who are the Australian admins on gc.com? and are there any new rules I may not be aware of???

Wow, this IS a blast from the past!
So much has changed I wouldn't know where to start.
This site is now not on i!'s servers anymore, and is hosted out of Melbourne on community funds, and myself and caughtatwork have been doing basically all the coding for the past 4 years......
The game has certainly progressed and also regressed in so many ways it makes it hard to sum up in a nutshell.
Welcome back!

Wow Mr Leek! I have done a number of your caches in Sydney. Most a lot are in good nick, others a bit worse for ware, a few may be gone but most I have attempted have been great Have you still been getting find logs?
The cache density in Sydney is probably going to be over whelming since you took a break... both GC and GCA caches everywhere. Good to see you back in the game

Hi leek. Welcome back, again!
Last time you dropped by you were looking for advise on what kind of GPSr to get as you were going to get back into it! That was a while though. Did you get a new one or find the old?
Bear Left and Riblit are still the reviewers for Australia.
Hmm what has changed? Caches have shrunk enormously and most people don't swap anymore.
Geocoins came and went and were replaced by pathtags.
Anyone else care to summarise?

Welcome back!
A couple of us collaborated and did a resurrection job on GA0003 Stringy in July 2009 as we didn't want to see this historical old cache disappear an WP1 had gone.
Now if I could find Egg I would be happy But all of yours I have done since I moved to Sydney I have enjoyed
As for new rules, the main thing is that people have realised that geocaching is not allowed in National Parks in NSW, so GC won't publish any there. The good thing is that with some work Geocaching NSW has been working with them to get caches allowed, and a new policy will be announced very soon that will allow cache placements in certain areas after going through an approval process.

Great to see your name again Leek. It was great meeting you a few years ago to find Stringy.
As Damo said, micros are the big thing these days, but thankfully you can filter them out if you so choose.
There are so many ways to play the game. Some are into the numbers (finding more than 100 in a weekend), others are after the hard to get caches (have you done Daylight or Final Cut?). It has really diversified.
We have an event in Carlingford happening on 19 Feb. Would be great if you can drop in.

Nice to see your name again. Made me remember the owl we saw doing your Lane Cove Lake cache. It was just sitting on a log in the rock overhang next to the track from the servo. We walked within a metre of it and it didn't move, amazing.
Re: Ahhh... I see my account is still active...
I guess Leek is just going to drop by every two years and tease us that he is getting into caching again.
Was just reading his last thread from Jan '09. We sure don't get threads derailed by trolls like we used to!

No... I'm still here... I've done another couple of local caches with minileek and she is enjoying it, so we'll probably continue. I plan to check out my caches slowly and reactivate them on gc.com where possible. It might take a little while though... First priority is to resurrect Fifth Element - a number of the travel bugs seem to have gone astray.
