Some of you have met either one or both of my daughters, Skye and Alexis. They were with me when I did the 24 hr record run back in Oct 06. They have been to some of the events I have been to.

Anyway, today was a momentious day in their lives, the last day of secondary school.

Mrs Bundy and I, along with Mrs Bundys parents, attended their graduation today, and at about 12.30pm today, they took that final step, out of the schoolground, into the big bad world.

I cannot believe that 12 years of school have finished so quickly. It seems only yesterday, they headed off, in nice new uniforms, to their first days at primary school.

These two young people, have grown, and matured, to the people they are today. Sure, they have their faults, as all teenagers do, and they have had their problems, but I do have to say I am extremely proud of how they have grown to be the people they are today.

And I am not ashamed to admit, I did shed a tear today, knowing that their lives are now going to become much more complex. I have advised them to enjoy this last month or so of school, because, although at the moment, they cant get out of school fast enough, in 5, 10, or 15 years time, they will look back on these years, and realise they how carefree they really were.

And so, to any other seniors who graduated today in Queensland, or who may be going to graduate in the next couple of weeks,

CONGRATULATIONS.

And for those of you who will finish in the next few weeks, think of this, something I asked my girls to do today,

When you get to the gate at school, after you have finished, and are about to leave for the last time, stop at the fenceline, think about what you are about to do, what you are about to leave behind, what you are about to head into, head up, be proud of what you have achieved, no regrets, and take that last step out of school, knowing that you will never, ever, be in that school yard again, ever, as a student.

Cheers
Bundy

Congratulations to your girls, Bundy. It is a big moment in your lives.

My youngest sat her last year 12 exam last week; their graduation night is at the end of the month. While there's nothing that would induce me to relive my school days, I think it's wonderful that most kids seem to enjoy school now.

It is a huge moment in their lives and worthy of a tear.

we went through this 12 months ago with out youngest and while life goes on, i think the grownups did more reflection that the young ones. They can't wait to move on, we just want it all to slow down.

Congratulations to you all.
