whats the chances the police are looking for it as it may have been used in a murder many many years ago?

i'd make the inquiry but the condition it looks to be in it probably wouldn't be much help to them and i doubt you would need to register it to keep it unless you were going to hit someone over the head with it :D

It was handed over to them, we had lunch while we waited for them to turn up. It was stored in such a way it was obvious it was not meant to stay there that long, maybe they just forgot about it, died, went to jail, who knows.

in milspeak, Webby and family found a weapons cache...... a bloody old one at that judging from the amount of corrosion evident. Looks like it was wrapped in cloth and bound with wire.

Just another example of what you can stumble upon when out and about, during exercises at High Range north of Townsville, it was not uncommon to discover certain plants in hidden in such a manner as for the plants to be undectable from the air from visual survaillence...

I just want to find a big bag of cash (dare i say it, a cash cache) like those kids found up Hornsby way, $200,000plus in garbage bags.......

22 single shot bolt action. Barrel had been removed from stock, then cloth stuffed into the end of the barrel, wrapped in wax paper and then tied up with string. Barrel was quite corroded, but not surprised considering how damp it was where we found it.

Oh, and we found the cache, but it was no where near where this was. We found this due to a wandering GZ.

Police say they will clean it up and do "testing" and if anything is found of interest, then I have to make a formal statement..

And yes, that is the stock on the RHS of the image. Now she has something to tell for news, better than when she went and said she saw mens penis on a beach a few weeks ago, hmmm. The teachers may start to wonder what we are doing to this child!

So what did you tell them what you where doing in the area :?:

They may be back to search the area more so if they know about GEOcaching it could be a real step in the right direction  .
