Another airchair cacher

So I just got a log on a GCA history cache hidden in northern Sydney from someone based in Perth, who hasn't logged anything since July 30 (and south of Adelaide) on the other site. I suspect the answers may have been googled/guessed until they got the right answer. And with 22000 finds I suspect we have another armchair cacher. They found an impossible number of GCA virtual caches today spread from Woomera through Imnnamicka, Newcastle to Sydney. All the logs are the same as well.

Oh well GrumpyBump if that's how you want to play the game then go for it. If you don't want the actual experience of finding the spot and enjoying the experience that's your loss.

A shame we can't delete logs. But I won't be doing anymore of your jigsaws in the future and will post a note instead calling you out.

It's interesting that the same cacher has logged finds on almost all his own locationless caches, too.

He is known in SA for logging many Groundspeak caches without having signed the log. After he did that on a small powertrail, the owner deleted all his logs for the powertrail. He then went back and stole all the caches in the powertrail in spite.

He did show up at an event a couple years ago though. Just said hello, introduced himself and then left.

It's a bit of a shame that he's now fake logging GCA caches to.

This cacher is now Publishing a locationless one day, logging find the next and then archiving the cache on the third day, :-k :-k seems like a blatant attempt to increase his GA finds

Looking at the dates he is backdating them to Dec 2020 - probably to hide the fact that he is doing this. But the GA number shows that they are newly created. He is increasing both his hides and finds.

It is very annoying but what can we do. Not do his Locationless? He does have some good ones though despite his current antics.

We can stop any account from creating a new cache.
We can stop any account from logging their own caches.
We can stop any account from logging any cache at all.
We could impose a limit on the number of caches any account could create per day, month, year.

What, if anything, would you like to do?
What harm is being done by their actions?
What harm could be done by any action we take?

I think more harm could be done to the wider GCA community in the short to long term if any of these steps were taken so I am happy to accept what has been done is done and just get on with it.

I have set up an email filter so anything with his name in it just goes straight to the bin, so I don't even see his locationless anymore.

It may be easier as I use Thunderbird to download email rather than reading it online, not sure how easy it would be to set up in the gmail web page if you use that. Work emails for my previous job I had to use the web page for google, in the new job it is outlook.

And the work setup is weird, I am employed by a UK company but I can do everything I need for them on the home PC using the browser for Outlook email and Teams so I don't even bother firing up their laptop; but at the same time am fully subcontracted to another company by them and use one of their laptops for Outlook, Teams and VPN to get into their network. Still as long as they want to pay me to work from home pretty much full time I am not going to argue. As most of the work is with people in Asia who are a number of hours behind I can sleep in and not commute.
