I've had no trouble using Safari on the iPad, apart from they way it can't open more than a couple of tabs on the browser and trying to zoom in and select caches off the map can be tiresome...

First time I ever tried logging in to GCA on a iDevice I had troubles too. The problem was that it decided that since I was trying to type I needed a capital letter - of course GCA usernames are case sensitive and there is no capital at the start of our username.

If its trying to capitalize your username, hit the shift arrow again to turn it off.

I'm amazed by people going out geocaching with an ipad being used as their device. I can understand phones - they are easy to use and fit in the hand and may survive a drop (well not an iphone probably) but I wonder about an ipad slipping out of the hands onto rocks or into a creek - yes I've seen people using them in the bush!

I think they'd be great around the CBD with tall buildings where you go can by the 'satellite' image for navigation rather than following the pointer.

Have you heard of the people who carry a laptop and plugin GPS around?

We are having the exact same problem :-( Our user name gas 4 uppercase letters then 3 lowercase letters so I have made sure they are all correct so that's not the problem.
I have even tried changing our password but that didnt work either..
Any ideas?
Ps this phone works ok logging in but its not an i-phone

Found out from talking to another i-pad user that I had to turn the Privacy setting to Off to get the log-in to work

Go to Settings
On lefthand tab slide it till you see "Safari" - touch it
Privacy - Private Browsing - click to "off"
Accept cookies - "From visited"

Hope this helps Cotswold :-)

If it's this site you are having trouble with, then yes, you need to have the browser accept session cookies in it's privacy options

Ah - I'd forgotten the cookie issue, we had similar problems with our WiFi registration system with some users.

Anyone else have trouble with the GMAPs - such as moving to a completely different part of the off-screen map instead of centring it where you tap on the map, pinch zooming doing much the same thing (I gave up and use the +/- buttons now) etc? ](*,)
