WhereIGo & Windows 7 - 64 bit

I did my first WhereIGo cache yesterday. Whoot ! I think there is great potential for this and have already mapped out an epic route for my Monty Basil and the Holy Grail. Slight problem - the WhereIGo builder is clunky and not compatible with Windows 7 - 64 bit. It allows me to create a cartridge, add characters, items, zones etc, save the cartridge but when I try to open the cartridge for further work, it falls over. Any ideas ? I was so hoping to have a bunch of French keniggetts running over Red Hill screaming "Niiiii".

I realise there is a WhereIGo forum but they don't appear to speak at my level of understanding of all things IT ! All suggestions and Monty Python jokes greatly appreciated !

Where do you find whereIgo cache details and what do they involve?

They are a cache type listed on gc.com . It is a groundspeak invention but they do have their own website

Hi Basil,

We just finished building our second Wherigo on the weekend. As my caching computer is a EEE running XP I have always used Shells Vaio running 7 - 64 bit.

I use Urwigo

It is a much nicer GUI version that even a dummy like me can use.

On further investigation, there are other builders "out there" which might work.

Thanks Matt, I didn't see your reply. I have posted the question on the WhereIgo Forum but based on your reply, I will give it a go. Cheers

Good to see more whereigo's in the pipeline. The couple I havevdone have been a real blast.

And a MP themed one? Brilliant AB - will definitely be hanging out for this one! [-o<

I too am having the same problem with W7 64. I will try the other builders - thanks all.

If anyone wants to have a look at a Urwigo Cartridge I'll happily share a version of one of my local caches that doesn't contain the final location.

It might make building the cartridge a bit easier. You can also do an advanced search doe open source cartridges.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro that can be borrowed. I got it 1993 -5 sometime. It has windows on it. It is 3.1 with a mono-chrome screen. It has never failed.

Might be great, but the home page asks you to log in, with no way of creating an account, and zero other text for guidance. A google found this page in the Wiki. Is it worth the effort?
