As promised Here are some shots of the door panel. I haven't done a full shot, that will have to wait till it gets fitted.

These are work-in-progress, Clare still has to putty the glass in, stove black the lead and then clean it all. She only just finished the soldering this morning.

So now we have two panels awaiting the time they will be married together and put in place.

Gorgeous....just gorgeous!

She's talented. One day Santa will buy me leadlighting classes....

Wonderful work and I am priviledged to have seen the other 2 works as well.

Well Clare has finally completed the leadlight panel, by having it fitted to the new front door. Will post pics soon

Looking forward to seeing it and I bet it is wonderful. Would you believe we were talking about you today.

The completed work, 20months from conception to installation. In $$ I stopped counting after $2800, thats just for the new frame, door (oversized), Toughen glass (To give the Leadlight protection on the outside of the house), oversized security screendoor and installation of the Leadlight itself.

Cost of the Cockatoo Panel, no idea, we never kept track of it, but we found out that the shop where Clare did her lessons charge $10 per piece if you want a repair done. working on that alone, that panel is over $2500(not $1500) just in labour. Size of the Panel, 200cm by 40cm, in two pieces to allow for ease of making it and installation.

Will post a better close up of the cockatoos later on, I failed miserably at trying to get a reasonable image. Som much for the new ditigal SLR camera, this shot was taken with the little kodak digital.

Wow thats fantasic! I would love to learn lead lighting - especially as we have just brought a older home it would suit. Maybe if I give enough hints Papa Hylton might get me some lessons - that or I'll just ask your wife to make me some pieces

Thankss, I take no credit for this one, all her own work. In the 2 days this has beeen up,Clare has already had three requests for panels to be made. The next project however goes to our niece, a re-build of a fairy mirror she purchased at a garage sale.

Fabulous, what a great masterpiece. You won't want to sell the house.
BTW if you need insurance to get some cash I can send my grandson around. He has a keen eye when it comes to cricket and front glass doors.
