It's great for trying to confirm whether a trig is present - no good if there's too much tree cover of course but I've found quite a few this way. Then I've got to try and work out the same spot in Google Earth to get coords. If only they had coordinates!
Also if only they covered a bit more than the capitals.

I noticed the other day they are now nagging you to register and sign in. I managed to ignore it but there was an annoying ad sitting at the bottom of the page still nagging so I got AdBlock Plus to get rid of it.
May well join up to see what extra is on offer.
When I said no coordinates in the recent post I meant you can't enter coordinates and go to that point like in GE. Maybe they'll have that soon.

You can go to set coords if you use nearmap via gsak though.

When you go from GSAK it doesn't put an arrow or symbol to show you where the location is unfortunately.
If you have OziExplorer, it will put waypoint markers on nearmap maps. I export caches from GSAK to Ozi using nearmaps to get the precise locations in high definition. Back in the early 2000s anyone serious about computer mapping used OziExporer. It can use Google Maps, Nearmaps and others.

No, have not signed up yet. It is still working okay without doing it so far.

Yes, something in that URL made it put the pointer on the map, fantastic.
I've been trying to discover that for several years since I became aware of nearmaps.

I can't remember where I originally found that particular URL.

I'd worked out the URL I was using several years ago when I discovered nearmaps and didn't pick up the difference.
