Congrats on the win!
I'm plotting an assault on this for a Sunday (huzzah cheap travel!) and could do with some advice.
The 4 waypoint caches are close enough to a bus stop that I can public transport my way to the start (train to Penrith/Emu Plains, 691 to a bus stop, ~20min walk to GA9996).
Getting home is looking a bit strange though.
Straight line distance, Lapstone is the train station closest to GA10000.
However, Google maps has plotted me a circuitous route of going back the way I came, getting a 1688 bus that does a bit of a roundabout circle of roads to Lapstone station, and getting a train from there.
The purely-walking-to-Lapstone option does a similarly circuitous thing, sticking to sealed roads, making it about an hour's walk to either Lapstone or Emu Plains stations.
People familiar with the area - do you have any insight?
Is it not possible to just walk south?
I'm seeing Siding Lookout and also the Lapstone Zig Zag Railway/Walking Track as interesting spots on the map - are there tracks to Lapstone that Google simply doesn't know about?
Knowing my luck, I'll finish up late enough to have just missed any last buses and will end up having to walk to a train station anyway
Any insights, advice, etc. would be welcome!
