Install eTrex Legend firmware in eTrex Venture

A friend referred me to <a href="http://groups.google.co.uk/groups?hl=en ... ture">this news article</a> about installing the new eTrex Legend (the mapping one) firmware in an eTrex Venture (the cheaper non-mapping one).
<p>Basically the memory previously used for the worldwide city database (and POI data) is now used to allow you to store heaps more waypoints and track data. A number of other features are improved. (Read the article for more info.) Due to the limited memory on the Venture, you still cannot upload maps to it.
<p>Are there any Venture owners that have tried this? I'm thinking of giving it a go.
