TomTom RAM mount question

Hi, I recently took advantage of the DSE half price sale to pick up an TomTom XXL 540 and while I am pretty happy with the device, I'm much less so with the crappy mount. The ring "clip" arrangement is flimsy and after a few days of use, removing the GPS for security, I'm no longer confident it will actually stay there if I drive over a bump bigger than a line painted on the road.
I have been looking at RAM mounts, but not quite sure exactly how many/which bits I need to buy to stick my GPS to the car window. There doesn't seem to be a complete kit anywhere I have found.
So, I have guessed I need a unit holder/cradle and a suction mount. For a minimalist (read as cheap as possible) setup, is there anything I need between these ? It's not obvious from the pics whether the holder can attach directly to the suction mount.
I am looking at the following:
Holder: http://www.ja-gps.com.au/RAM/ram-hol-to10u/
Suction do-dad: http://www.ja-gps.com.au/RAM/rap-sb-193u/
Thanks for any assistance.
