On three occasions over the last three weeks I have been unable to access the forum for the following reason:

"You have been permanently banned from this board.

Please contact the Board Administrator for more information.

Reason given for ban: Spam Signups have occured (sic) at this address

A ban has been issued on your IP address".

I have resolved this access problem by restarting my computer twice & last night I had to shut down completely.

Is this a GCA site problem or something at my end?

It's the IP address your ISP has assigned you. Too many SPAM signups causes the IP address to be blocked. I'm guessing this is occurring on a mobile device?

That was quick! I was accessing the forum via my laptop.

OK, then you're being assigned an IP address each time you connect which is very strange. ISP's normally assign an IP address to your machine for a quite a long time.

Are you using a proxy? That would be another way the IP address has been banned as the proxies are used by all sorts of nefarious folks.

When this happens again, please let us know the IP address you were assigned from your ISP and we'll confirm why it was banned and maybe unban it.
