Huge Event Poll

Post by Cheesy pigs » 03 October 07 8:10 pm

A couple of Tasmanians have been considering having a big Geocaching get-together in Hobart (and surrounds), and inviting geocachers from everywhere to attend.

Would you be interested in travelling to Hobart to attend a 2 day, weekend event? It could include an expo, semi-formal dinner, caching competitions, prizes etc

If no, what would draw you to Tassie for an event, if anything? Would you need at least a year's notice to prepare (money, holidays, bookings, etc)?

Would depend a little on when it was to be and how much notice. It might be just the excuse I need to visit Tassie

Count me in! I'm always up for a trip to Tassie, assuming I can swing an award flight with frequent flyer points. :)

And we would love to see you again Dak!

We were thinking about mid January (a time when Hobart is really hummin'!) 2009. Yeah?

That date/timeframe would suit us and would be able to schedule a trip from Darwin. Please keep me informed

I'd come, but I'm not sure how I would convince the rest of the household that this would be good use of the budget. :(

Yeh, another excuse to use our frequent flyer points.....We're in. :P Got the Event page up yet?

Maybe there could be several smaller events planned, over several days, including showing off your geocoin collection finally. :P

At this stage it would need to be near New Years as I should get to Hobart on the 30th...

Depending on time of year, we would be keen. Advance notice for frequent flyer points would be good too :)

That sounds great. Been wanting to go to tassie for ages. And I have just booked 4 weeks holidays for Jan 2009. (first lot of school hols that I could get off). Hubby sounds interested as well.

I'd love an excuse to go down to Tassie. Haven't been since I was 3!

A trip to Tassie is on the list of things to do for 'one day soonish' but our travel plans for 2008 are mapped out already.

I suspect that we would not plan a trip around a geocaching event anyway. (that is the reason for my no vote).

It looks like there is some international interest as well :D

If we get enough people wanting to come, we'll try to get some subsidised accommodation happening....

2009 is certainly plenty of notice, or did you mean 2008?
