River Deep to Mountain High
The 2007 River Deep to Mountain High game is all about geocaching around your country. Mountains and rivers. Plains and beaches. Looking for the 4 essential elements of Earth, Wind, Fire and Water. Taking drives through the country and strolls through the bush. It's about the journey, not the destination (except of course there is a cache at the end).
http://www.cachinggames.com/rdmh/index.php
The game starts on the 1st of May and runs through to the end of June.
We have taken feedback from last year and tweaked the game a little to help even those high find cachers enjoy the game. New starters will also be able to enjoy the game as there should be a plethora of caches in their vicinity which meet the requirements.
30 requirements, you only have to get 20 (instead of 25).
3 GCA specific requirements, so non-GCA people have 27 to choose 20 from. GCA participants get the full gamut.
Some will be easier than last year (can we all count to 8?)
Some will be a little more challenging.
What will they be? Only time will tell, but they will all be within the overall theme of the game of getting out there and enjoying the countryside.
Hope to see your name joining in the game.
Thanks to Bewilderbeest for the name of the game as well as Cached and Facitman who will be administering the game with me.

That's the reason there's only 20 requirements this year. Hopefully they can get to 20 out of 30.mtrax wrote:hmm still a few mountains in ACT I haven't cached so hopefully makes it easier..
I'm thinking these sort of games must be harder for veteran caches as they have to travel further or wait for new caches to qualify..
Looking forward to this comp
No river too deep or Mountain too high for this team
Especially in Alpine Victoria where for the next few years most ridges and valleys have been cleared of dense scrub
BTW - My cache "Above You only Sky" still remains unfound after only 660 days, It might get its first find in the comp. period.
Good time to have a go at it too, as water should be available.

We purposely reduced the top 10 to top 5 and distributed other winning places across the numbers (hopefully we'll get 40 players) based on feedback from last year.J_&_J wrote:We've signed up, despite the fact we no longer find the time to go caching these days. Good to see there is still a chance to pick up a coin though. Many thanks to the organisers.
People who for whatever reason can't get all 20 requirements can still try to be cunning like a weasel and stay in one of the other winning locations.
That's going to take an awful lot of strategy.
