Cache page / wiki woes

Post by The Ginger Loon » 28 November 06 12:37 pm

It's me again... :roll:

I'm doing some more work on the wiki | cache page and I'm finding some problems on the GCA cache pages as a result.

In the sidebar under Other Caches are two links,
  • Nearby standard
    Also found
Neither is returning any results.

Nearby standard displays a page with the term Search Results at the top but no results. Hard to believe for any cache in Sydney.

Also found returns a page with the standard GCA header and footer and nothing else.

I've tried this both logged in and as a visitor with the same results.

Also while we are in the same area of the cache page I think the "Also recommended" link should only be displayed if the cache in question has been recommended.
Otherwise the following embarrassing message is displayed;
People who recommend [cache name removed] also recommendedÂ…

There are no recommendations for [cache name removed].
I've got some thought on possibly re-organising the Maps / Satellite Photos / Software sections but I'll leave them for another thread.

Regards
L()()N.

Nearby standard

Yeah, I noticed this two days ago so I've made a fix for the next release.
Technically what happened was that it was checking for"Traditional Cache" whereas it should have been checking for "T". Whoops :oops:

Also found

I'll have a look and see why it's b0rked.

Also found is deprecated.
I will remove it in the next release.

Also recommended has been changed as per your recommendation :lol:

ie. It will now only display on the list if the cache is recommended.

This will be available in the next release.

ahh a thread to poke a thought...

GC changed their GPX definition recently so all Archive logs now just have 'Archive' rather than 'Archive (show)' or 'Archive (no show)'. The log import facility doesn't recognise 'Archive'

That's already been fixed for the next release Facitman.

Sorry, we should probably publish a bug fix list, but I've been rather busy lately.

If you didn't spend so much time fixing bugs, you'd have more time to document them! :P
