Merchandise – Shirts.

Ok fellow cachers, as promised I put my hand up some time ago to organize some wears for Oz caching identity. I was not willing to commence this until I had adequate time to follow through. The first item on the agenda will be shirts for which you can wear to:

Ok – My 2c worth.
To get the ball rolling here are some Ideas I have. Agree or dismiss them as required so we can get some discussion happening as to what is the best for most everyone.
(1) Style: I would like a light weight button up unisex* shirt with breast pockets, that breaths and is comfortable.
(2) Colour: DonÂ’t care about the colour. 4 Colour (like logo) divided as quarters would look good but I feel would be heavy and too expensive. Black would be too hot.
(3) Quality: I like quality and am willing to pay for it. I like Rivers products but would be just as happy with Lowes or Warehouse. Disposals vary too much and have limited sizes. We need to cater for at least XXXL down.
(4) How it Looks: Left Breast Logo with Geocaching, com.au beneath or below and pseudonym E.g.“The Bronze.Ââ€

Bronze, here's our thoughts on the shirts....
Me - I like round neck shirts red's, dark blue's, dark grey's
Pandaabear - like's polo neck shirts in white or light blue.
Embroidery in preference to screen printing, comfortable and breaths, and good quality we prefer to pay a bit more for something that won't shrink in the wash and doesn't need ironing before you wear it.
Whatever the outcome we'll take 2 (1 x M & 1 x XL)
Cheers
Gunnell
Ps - PB just told me they can't be red, because if I turn all her underwear and white shirts pink again, she will kill me!

Cool!!! I was gonna run a few ink-jet iron-on designs, but still haven't got around to it.
(1) – What style: T or polo
(2) – What colour: Blue, Grey or white. The actual print method/design plays a massive factor in this.
(3) – What quality*: Good, but not excessive quality, or provide alternatives, one for caching (cheap), one more expensive.
(4) – How it looks: Here's the design I previously came up with ...
http://roger.mindsocket.com.au/images/g ... sample.gif
Looking at the sample, the top 2 sections (slogan and big logo, comprising 90% of the image) would be full size on the back, and the bottom most section (logo and text) would go across the chest on front.
In addition, a personalised team logo could go on the left sleeve. Design is better suited for laser/silk screen than embroiding.
(5) – Price: Depends on the above. Between $20-50

Heh heh. Very clever. I like funny logo and designs. I hope that there will be a whole assortment to choose from in the future but it is still early days. Plan it to get on shirt happeneing and see if there is a saleable market. No one will hold stock if they can't move it.
I was just going to get some bonds shirts and Inkjet some logo onto them to wear. We did a few for a family gathering and they didn't last five washes. It was a shame because they looked good for a while.
I like the Irwin shirts and have been waering them as a sort of Uni Uniform for years. Yakka does offer an affordable long sleve shirt that comes in a few different colours. Long sleves can be rolled up and is a sun smart idea. They also satisfy the size ranges we need as well.
Some of these might jerk your chain- They are all in jest of course.
Feel free to add your own.

Just a few notes on shirt designs / materials
Ink Jet iron-on transfers won't last forever. I made some for teamCHAOS about a year or so ago and they deteriorated fairly quickly. For t-shirts silk screening would be best.
Given that you can get pretty filthy whilst caching (or at least I seem to) the shirst would have to be fairly durable.
Monogramming is best suited to Polo Shirts / Steve Irwin shirts & Rugby/Footy jerseys.

oh yeah! Unfortunately, I have amassed a fair collection of bags recently, and can't quite justify the scottevest anymore. I better keep it on my wishlist, just in case.ToolkiT wrote:found the perfect item to put the logo on!

I'd rather these vests weren't mentioned in my presence.ToolkiT wrote:found the perfect item to put the logo on!

The USD57 freight to NZ offended me, and then I had an email from a Texas cacher asking if she could send me a TB to release here. I said sure, then asked if she'd mind putting it in the pocket (well, one of the pockets!) in an evest, if I paid the postage.
That was in November, and I still don't have the vest.
After a long silence, the cacher is responding to emails again, but she still hasn't confirmed that she's actually sent it.
So, you can see why I'm a leeetle sensitive on the topic!

If she send it by US mail you could be in for a long wait.. I won a contest and they send me the price by USmail and it took allmost a year to reach my house (11 months to be exact..)
