(Cedar Rapids – KCRG) -- You've probably been on a scavenger hunt at some point in your life. But, have you ever gone Geocaching?

Geocachers use a special device that's about the size of a cell phone. It's kind of like a baseball player's bat, or a hockey player's stick. It looks like a typical camping trip... But there's more going on here than you realize.

These people are Geocachers. "I love it. I got hooked on it on my first try. It was just more fun than a barrel of monkeys," Ron Geiger said. Here's how it works. People buy one of these special GPS units...you can get a cheap one for about 100 bucks.

Then, you plug it into your computer and download a treasure map. Finally, you head to the site and start searching.

The device connects to satellites in space, and displays an arrow that tells you which way to go to find the hidden treasures. It's like a high-tech Easter-egg hunt.

And, people hide all kinds of things at the sites. Then, they close up the box and put it back where they found it so the next person can enjoy finding it, too.

I suggested to the executive that it wasn't a good idea that they let Mix teach English but they will never learn.

This is what happens - sad isn't it. I technological society driven to that.

Move to the front!

There is hope - they have taken him off English and given him Legal Studies.

Now we can look forward to our prisons filling up with inmates.
