Flash Mobs?

Post by Ebenezer » 25 July 03 4:34 pm

I'm guessing that a flash-mob would be a kind of event cache. Looks like fun.

See http://groups.yahoo.com/group/flashmobau/ for more information about Australian flash mobs. There was one in Melbourne recently, and there is one in Sydney real-soon-now.

A bit OT for this forum, but e-mail me if you want more details on Sydney. It is tomorrow.

From today's Age
The Age wrote: It has been done in London and New York and now Melbourne has seen its first "flash mob".

Yep... Leek and Mind Sockets were there... It was very silly... basically we all had to stand near the QVB and pretend to be cats and dogs for 3 minutes... It should be on the ABC 7pm news tonight... MS has some video / photos of the event that will be on his site soon...

I felt like a complete banana - but I needed some silliness in my life after the week I had...

See http://sydmob.com/mob_one.html for a report (and videos to follow)... watch out for future events soon...

I have signed up as well. Sorry I missed it. For a little touch of info......The 2 Dogs would have been cats.

From the photos on their web site it does look slightly lame. I wasn't able to make it, but I'm looking forward to the next one.

As Leek said, was silly, but a lot of fun (I kinda piked and became photographer from the side for this one). Beware the mailing list may become a little traffic heavy. Read all the details and consider changing your subscription options.

I'm beginning to notice that I'm joining a lot of internet-based communities that have a real life contact aspect. I like it! :)
