What type of GPSr do you use for Geocaching?

Just curious about what type of GPSr people use for their geocaching activities...

I have tried to include the main GPS makes / series in the poll, but please let me know if I've missed any common ones...

Personally, I use a Magellan Meridian Yellow GPS fitted with an SD card containing detailed maps for NSW...

We've got two units a Magellan Meridian (platinum) and a Garmin GPS12. The maping capability in the Magellan make it a good unit whilst travelling and the Garmin seems to perform far better in adverse conditions, ie. poor satellite coverage.

we started off with a delorme trip-mate plugged into a palmpilot. the palm ended up getting so bashed around that we got an extex summit which we lost within a week. we got a second extrex summit and have been using that for a while and is still going strong. recently we bought an extrex vista which has street-level maps built in.

At team CHOAS we use a variety of GPS's, depending on who's on the hunt and who brings a GPS.
<ul>
<li>The Ginger Loon => Garmin II+ </li>
<li>Captain Chaos => Garmin II+</li>
<li>Y2C => Garmin Etrex (Yellow) & Casio GPS watch</li>
<li>Spherical Les => Garmin Etrex (Yellow)</li>
</ul>

As you can see we are dedicated Magellan users...

We at Sandy Feet use the base model Magellan Meridian with an SD card with street level mapping, when out with Alternate Route who uses a base model Etrex we have found that the etrex gets you to the general area quicker ie within 10 mtrs and the Meridian once settled down will put you right on top of the cache.

We've had our Meridian Platinum for almost a year now and very happy with it, particularly the maps and compass.

Bought several state map SD cards early on, but today for what we spent then we could have had all seven today.

Probably should have bought the CDs rather than the cards, too, so we could have the same detail on the PC, but didn't have a card reader at the time.

I use a Magellan 2000XL. Its an old model but still works well and gets me to the caches

I originally used a magellan320 but I have passed that onto Mikita. I now enjoy the eTrex Vista with its mapping and elec compass capabilities.

Magellan 315, which works much better since I got a new unit sent from Magellan HQ in Perth. I can now get more than 3 satellites on the display at once!

Currently a Garmin Emap with additional 64Mb memory and all Aust Street level maps.

Team Gecko currently uses a Garmin 12 for all geocaching, fishing and any other activity you care to think of. This is my second Garmin 12, as someone decided they needed my first one more than me. I am currently in the process of reseaching another GPSr maybe a Magellan Meridian (colour hopefully - if the Minister for Fun, Finainces and Homefront agrees)
with all the bells and whistles

We use a Magellan MAP330 with site updated software and street level mapping loaded. We have been using the unit for nearly 2 years now and have found it to be a fabulous performer even in adverse conditions.
We also still have our very first unit a Magellan 300 which still goes with us as a back up.

BTW if anyone has the N.T. Streetsend CD we are interested in doing a deal. Perhaps a copy of RASTER 250K.
