Logo Interruptus [closed]

Post by Manta » 19 January 05 9:06 am

On the main GCA page, the logo sits astride the smaller page link tabs - namely the "My" and "All" tabs. This makes it almost impossible to select these tabs as the logo overrides them.

Can the logo be resized on this page or moved slightly to allow for selection of the tabs underneath it?

Many thanks.

What screen resolution and browser do do you use?

IE and Firefox handle this differently. I have no problem with either at 1024 x 768 or higher resolution
Firefox at 800 x 600 shows the effect you describe although I can select the "My" and 'All" tabs.
(The same with IE)

i know what you mean its a fine mouse movment to get the my tab, i usually watch the bar at the bootom for the address to come up before i click the mouse. Can get frustrating, i have an optic mouse which is fairly smooth! i would hate to try with a ball mouse.

Thanks for the advice. I'll fiddle around with resolutions and see if I can sort it out.

I had the same problem and reported this to i! a while back in other post. The only way I could fix it was to change the resolution of the screen to a higher one.

I'm quite happy looking at higher resolutions - it's the mini-mantas that don't like it and keep changing it back!!

(And I don't need glasses... yet!!)

Perhaps the icons that a person is less likely to be interested in can be condensed into a drop down or similar. That is, for me (in NSW), I would see:

My, All, NSW, Other(dropdown).

Just a thought. For most people, i suspect most state icons take up a fair bit of room relative to the use they get.

Great idea Mindsocket except that we banana-benders are quite happy to see NSW placed in the "Other" dropdown list:wink:. I know what you're getting at - the tabs could be customised by the individual or by the site, depending on the state of the logged on member.

I heartily agree with the point you made about usage. Would it be easier to just have all the state tabs lumped into one "State" dropdown?

Hmmm ... I think NZ should be higher on the list than Tas for culling. :)

Besides, Tasmania's getting closer to the mainland, due to Victoria sucking.

*asbestos suit on*

In case anyone missed it (yes, I'm looking at you slow people in Adelaide and ACT 8) ), this post is entirely tongue in cheek.

At Mind Socket Geocaching, we don't offend anybody, because we offend everybody. That's nearly the whole lot covered now.
