I've just "updated" the log book I made for GC6M0AD at the trigpoint at the Sydney Observatory with hints towards GeoSportZ2016. See http://imgur.com/gaoNUMd.

Re: GeosportZ 2016
I've got another question. Cache sizes - on GC a 'medium' (being the middle of 5 boxes in classic app) cache is typically ammo can size in their description. How do the GC sizes match on the geosportZ list for points calculations?

Re: GeosportZ 2016
The app is interpreting the actual container size and medium is not known to the site or the GPX files. What app is doing that?
The GC site lists Micro, Small, Regular, Large, Other for physical container cache types. You should refer back to the site for the actual size used.

Hi No_Tomorrow,No_Tomorrow wrote:Awesome! Challenges are up! And they look good and even achievable for isolated people (thank you). I have a few questions though:
12 - Golf - FTF - does this mean the hidden before August rule does not apply to this one?
19 - Modern Pentathalon - do you have to do all waypoints within the game period, say if you have half the multi done before August but have not completed it yet?
26&41 - 1500m - this mentions both the cache being 1500m walk away, and 1500m walk in total. Is the walk in total acceptable, as in the cache being 750m away equaling a 1500m round trip?
We haven't forgot your questions here.....we just need to clarify a couple of things and will address them later this afternoon. (Life just gets in the way sometimes.... )
Standby.....

And to make things easier for some (portability, offline use, visually challenged on a mobile device), I've created a handy dandy printer-friendly version of the challenges with an extra column so you can keep track of your points.

Trying to log a cache but the ID says it doesn't exist. Is this because it's not in the GCA system yet, being published only yesterday? "https://coord.info/GC6PBFH"

Yes. If you're a PM at GC, grab the GPX file and import it please. You should then be cool to log it.spatialriq wrote:Trying to log a cache but the ID says it doesn't exist. Is this because it's not in the GCA system yet, being published only yesterday? "https://coord.info/GC6PBFH"

The game validates caches and we were not expecting last minute caches to contribute much on day 1. You have found the exception

Re: GeosportZ 2016
I've just taken out my highlighters to finally go through the whole list to see what I need to work on (and crossed off stuff like Marathon which is not possible for a mere mortal like me). I've got some planning to do!
A suggestion on FB was for an Excel version of the table that could do your tallying for you - would anyone find that useful enough for me to bother formatting nicely?

Re: GeosportZ 2016
I made a GSAK macro last time to help with scores. I'll check that out tonight and see if it is applicable to this years game and update it as required.
