The return of Challenge caches

Post by Yurt » 01 June 16 1:49 pm

So it seems they are back in a modified form based on the surveys that were done.

New guidelines:

1.22. Challenge Caches

Haven't read through it yet. Post what changes you find. Hope it's an improvement.

I would prefer a new cache type so I can filter them out :-(

They may introduce a new attribute, which may allow the same function. No timeline on this however.

I see streak challenges are limited to 365 days so time to give up the insanity people! (You know who you are! )

It's good the CO has to also meet the challenge. That will stop newbies joining and setting challenges they don't come close to meeting.

Interesting to note that the majority of the existing challenge caches don't meet the new rules. (in SA anyway)

I'm not sure what to think of that... On one hand, it gets rid of the obscure things you can't verify - but on the other hand, what is acceptable now?

Could you please give a couple of examples for that? Just collecting data about things as some forums are pretty high-level-noise about it.

Yes I love that the CO has to meet the criteria, then it really is a "Challenge" - "I did this, it was tough but rewarding, I think you might enjoy it too" kind of thing instead of "This would be a nasty thing to do to people" kind of thing #-o

I love challenge caches, except for streaks. I'm glad they're back and from what I've read so far, the changes seem ok.

As someone that has hidden a few challenges, I cannot imagine hiding a challenge that I had not met myself!

Has anyone published one since the end of the moratorium? Or know of any new ones?

I'm wondering about putting the checker in the description. I can see where you can get them made but I'm not sure how to do the rest. I may or may not place a challenge cache yet.
