Hello all,
A friendly reminder that cache games run by GCA are just that, games.
Please take a pause and consider:
a) It should be understood by some of the keener players that other geocachers lead different lives, and perhaps can't hide or find caches in time frames you consider acceptable
b) That we do this in the spirit of FUN. The reason there wasn't a game last year was because the previous game got ugly on several fronts behind the scenes.
c) We run these games to enhance engagement between GCA and players both new and old. There are ways to diplomatically handle situations, especially with new players. and we'd ask you to approach other players with some tact and discretion where possible.
d) Your administrators CANNOT physically retrieve/move or force another player to move a piece. Unless it is the administrator who physically has the cache (guilty!.....)
e) if you don't think you can move a movable within a day or two, perhaps give it a miss.
f) Try to avoid using the support system for complaint resolution. Your first point of contact should be the other player, not us! (see point d). I'm not putting up with the BS I had to in previous games.
g) It is just a game, there is no money, no increase in powers or even a boost in Karma.
h) We choose to run these games. We don't have to! Please help us to have more of these by playing in the true spirit of these games, the spirit of FUN!
Keep it fun and take it a bit less seriously.. .it's just people moving cool garden gnomes around!

The gnome race is being very well received in WA with a number of groundspeak cachers joining in for the first time. That brings some teething issues but it is great to have some new GCA cachers!
