Uploading logs

Post by Richary » 20 November 14 11:16 pm

My apologies to the admins, but somehow I seem to have broken things. I was uploading logs from NSW/ACT caches the same way I always do every week. Get the new downloads into GSAK, filter out old logs and caches that haven't been logged in the last 10 days, then import. For some reason it seems to have changed a number of the cache names from whatever they should be to their GC code as the name. I have no idea why, I haven't done anything different at my end from last week - but now a number of caches are showing with their name just as the GC code.

If there is anything I can do to help fix this please let me know.

A change was made to the manual importer. We didn't used to trust the manual imports for things like name, terrain, difficulty, etc. But with the daily feed dying, I made a change to update these details based on the manual imports. There is no issue, just some additional messaging.

I think some of my recent logs have been causing the same mischief...

Trying again tonight, I changed the GSAK export parameter of waypoint name to be %Name instead of %code. That fails as it treats the exported name as the start of the waypoint so therefore it says things like invalid waypoint prefix. I don't mind using the %code as long as it won't break things here, with the cache names still showing up properly on GCA when people do a search.

If one of the admins or someone else can help with the GSAK output parameters I should use it would be appreciated, as I am happy to do my bit to keep things up to date here and d/l or u/l bandwidth is not a problem for me (it's stuff all in the scheme of the 200GB per month I have and don't use).
