Is that still correct

Hmm - every moveable cache I've ever found has had a logbook - or in one case had become the logbook itself. I can't see anything in the wiki about a logbook though - "Moveable cache - find it, take it, hide it somewhere else" certainly suggests that's enough.

I guess I like logbooks so you can see who's got to it before you (perhaps those who moved it the three previous times you tried to find it only to discover it had gone... ](*,) ) and as a memento if you're lucky enough to recover your cache after the race too.

Maybe it needs an official ruling to clarify by "He who must be obeyed" :?:

Gee, none of my frogs last year had a log and none of the ones this year have one either. If you have moved the cache surely this is proof that you have found it?

Actually very few of the Tasmanian frogs I found last year had a log

I assumed I was doing the right thing - caughtatwork can you please clarify?

Your cache. Your decision. I am happy either way. Im comfortable moving a cache with no log book.

None of my frogs had logbooks & that didn't pose a problem. If a moveable is moved then obviously its been found was my reasoning.

Fairy Nuff! Even though its a bit of a hassle I'm going to continue to attach and make logbooks for the rest of mine - this year at least...

We've attached bison tubes via cable ties to all of ours.

A couple of ours have no-where to write the GCA number on because of the type of object they are so needed a log so u could have the Cache ID :-)

Must admit I've never thought of attaching a log to any of ours. You find it, move it 1 km, log the new position and someone else finds it there; what more proof do I need that you found it? :-k
I reckon the more contentious issue is that of size. It's easy if a cache has some cubic capacity, you can refer back to the Wiki. What if it's essentially two dimensional? Is a wheel barrow wheel "regular" whilst a mountain bike wheel is "large", or are they both "other"? How about a flying carpet or a beanstalk!

fluffyfish has very kindly published GA4680 Bingo Event Cache (Perth) Part I, where all the WA Bingo racers can start their life, and also GA4939 Bingo Event Cache (Perth) Part II, over 1 Km away, for them all to complete their first move.

I will be in Sydney (probably Milperra) from the 11th to 18th December, and might be able to move some small racers in both directions. I'm hoping to get to a 12-12-12 event, since I will be missing out on the two events in Perth.

A trap for us newbies, instructions seemed a bit vague, so have included log books and FTF certs in my moveables!

Ummmm yes but when you are obsessed and have 28 moveables in the race.!

Obtaining said moveables attaching laminated tags with their GCA number as there is nowhere to write their
numbers is expense enough  (Dont tell Mr Felix what it cost)

Let alone the time and effort required :stabby to do that. Logs just seem to be no longer important. Especially when we
havent seen any of our frogs. Most seem to have had to be archived as missing from home?

Im not addicted really Im not [-( [-( :-" :-"

Albeit the Gnome race is what got us in hook line and sinker to Geocaching so we like to carry on with it. :gnome :gnomette

Now who's at fault for ADDICTING US :-k

I have attached or inserted bison tubes or similar to all 14 of strike-a-light's and mine to carry a log which also has the "cache note" info on it which I think can be useful in case the transport gets into the wrong hands.

I'm surprised at how many say they didn't last year as I found about 150 unique ones and only a handfull didn't have a log of some sort or other :) Anyway, I like a log book if it's possible, but don't see it as that important if it's not there.

Can't wait for Friday midnight. \:D/ \:D/

Ours all have logs of some description. Started hiding them as I work this week. Some new territory for GCA moveables down south being exploited ;)

You can find and move your own cache during the game period provided it is not the caches first move
Talking about this rule; my daughter and I realised that it does leave open some potential for cooking the books. Between us, we have nearly thirty caches. Come December 1st, we could easily log each other's caches, then "move" them to a hide more than 1km away, re-log and move again. Thus ticking twenty eight numbers off before 1am.
I hasten to add that we are not going to do this. Our caches are all going to be hidden and treated as though this family is a single caching entity; someone else must find first.
It does seem to be a loophole though. Is this why, in previous years, there's always had to be two finds in between?
