Coords in Word file to map?
Coords in Word file to map?
I have a set of coords in a Word file.
Is there an easy way to plot these onto a map? (For example like the map you get when you click on the geocaching.com map.)

Hi Bunya, go to http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/tutorials/waypoints.html here you will find how to create an excel file, take note of the top line of the sheet, with name/lat/long formatting, then you upload the file on the site and it will plot to co-ords for you...

Can't you just copy and paste into Google Maps ?
Re: Coords in Word file to map?
I tried that and Google Maps hung at the "loading" stage - perhaps I had the wrong input format.Agent Basil wrote:Can't you just copy and paste into Google Maps ?
I've got GPS Visualizer working and it's got a good number of options I've yet to fully explore - thanks g_ordo!

If you have GSAK, import them into a database and use the Google Maps macro, it does a great job and very simple to use.
If you haven't got GSAK .....get it!

Windows is just a Window look into the past. Something like 1960's technology?akkatracker wrote:What wizardry? Crapintoshlemmykc wrote:But what if he is a MacMan? I'm not sure what you folks are going on about.
Would these things work on my TRS-80?
More seriously - yes, I do have GSAK, but I'm still having fun playing with GPS Visualizer and one new thing per day is enough for me!

I never said GSAK was as bad as Windows! GSAK is the only reason!gmj3191 wrote:He could what you do Liam and run Windows under Basecamp most of the time.lemmykc wrote:Windows is just a Window look into the past. I got gsac to do the export to macro last night, excellent, is there a way to get it show proximity from one point to the next closest?
I also worked out how to get it to strip the gc from the cache codes, so I can load a heap of caches onto my êtrex h. Very happy now!!!

There is a macro for that too! Search 'KML' or 'proximity' or '.10'g_ordo wrote:I got gsac to do the export to macro last night, excellent, is there a way to get it show proximity from one point to the next closest?
