Geocaching Business Card
Recently we came across a cache that had a "What is Geocaching" type business card inside. We think it would be useful to have a few to help explain our obsession to muggles.
Can't remember the actual wording on the card though.
Anyone know of them? And where can we get hold of some?

You mean this one? http://geocaching.com.au/my/licence.png
It should be automagically customised to your own details (if you're logged in to GCA)

Re: Geocaching Business Card
There is an official Groundspeak one that is available from at least one of the local online retailers...
Re: Geocaching Business Card
I purchase these http://geocaching.com.au/shop/index.php ... ry&path=38 from the GCA shop occasionally & carry a couple with me which I show muggles to explain the activity. If they're really interested I give them one. The card covers both sites.ian-and-penny wrote:Recently we came across a cache that had a "What is Geocaching" type business card inside. I presume this was a rhetorical question - but see the "Logging DNFs as Finds" thread if not.Laighside Legends wrote: Just who is "Phil Thelogin"

Re: Geocaching Business Card
I just made my own credit card size laminated card to keep in my wallet and show people whenever I'm asked "What are you doing?". The text is pretty straight forward.....
GEOCACHING is an exciting, family friendly, treasure hunting game using a handheld GPS unit or a GPS enabled smart phone. Containers of differing sizes, called geocaches, are hidden in a variety of locations all around the world. They are often camouflaged to keep their whereabouts a secret. Each geocache contains a logbook for the finder to sign and may contain “treasure” for the finder to swap. At present there are over 5 million people enjoying this recreational activity by searching for over 1.8 million active geocaches. There could be one hidden close to your home!
If they want to know more we have a chat. If not, that usually satisfies them.

Not sure about that type, but I do know that there are business type business cards with trackable codes on them.
Would be interested to see a photo (or wording) if you can find the ones you are after.

Re: Geocaching Business Card
I've been wanting something like this as well. To hand out to muggles (and security guards, and police, etc) so they have some info to take away, mull over and maybe act on later. Just about every muggle I've met says "wow, that sounds cool!"...ian-and-penny wrote:Recently we came across a cache that had a "What is Geocaching" type business card inside. Calypso62: Your text is ideal. Do you mind if I "borrow" it? I would add the gc.com URL to it as well.

Re: Geocaching Business Card
Hi TwoDrews,
Go for it mate. This is a card I keep in my wallet to show people if and when I'm asked what I'm doing. That way I've always got something to show that explains the activity. If they show some interest I usually tell them to Google "Geocaching" and they'll find the website, both the Australian one and the US one. If you are going to hand it out then having the web address is a good idea.

Re: Geocaching Business Card
As opposed to those annoying business card like calling cards cachers leave in cache? After having signed the logbook, still leave a calling card which serves no other purpose than filling cache containers up with junk that no-one else wants, so therefore just serves as self-promotion! They can even be found in micro containers that have limited space in the first instance! So when cache is opened they fly everywhere and become litter if not all picked up....ian-and-penny wrote:Recently we came across a cache that had a "What is Geocaching" type business card inside. Re: Geocaching Business Card
Maybe we should draft up a do it yourself one.
I still have quite a few business card sized self sticking laminating pouches to find a use for now that the Munzee itch has been scratched.
