One disadvantage of a larger item as a moveable is it makes it harder for those outside capital cities to get involved, or for the race items to travel interstate as people get plane trips around the place. Just a thought.

Ahhh, yes, but this years game is about YOU and your ability to find certain caches, not just the cache moving around. You are not a passive observer this year, the game is you.

Being large didn't stop "Mobility Stealth" (http://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga1679) from travelling far and wide in the race a couple of years ago...Richary wrote:One disadvantage of a larger item as a moveable is it makes it harder for those outside capital cities to get involved, or for the race items to travel interstate as people get plane trips around the place. Agreed - and I'm sure I can get some wheels onto a nano somehow!lemmykc wrote:Who ever said it would prevent mint tins? I think I can get my hands on some 1cm wheels, and a mint tin, and some glue......pwags wrote:I love the idea of "wheels"... would prevent mint tins, and give us something incredibly embarrassing to have to find and walk away with in very public places. All the elements of a good moveable!
Bikes, wheelchairs, ride-on mowers, kids' toys, etc... would be a heap of fun.

I recall a certain metro-gnome that still resides on a Melbourne train.rogerw3 wrote: I agree some of us have to use trains, buses and feet to go anywhere. of course you could make it a requirement that everybody has to use public transport!

A little difficult for those who live in areas with no public transport

I like the wheels idea, espeacily as I drive a tow truck LOL but working out what is a cache and what is someones property might be a problem someone might get done for theft if not careful,

C@W might sell lots of Geocaching stickers! That would solve the "is it really a cache?" problem, AND make some money for the site.

Re: Caching games this year?
I'm thinking in a slightly different direction now.
I would still love to have a moving cache race where the distance you travel on the cache is what counts as your "score". But I don't want to combine that with bingo. So I think we may have inadvertently set up next years race requirements.
How about for this year we stay away from the bike / car / chair style caches and focus on the bingo elements? That still leaves us with a "traditional" style container for this year.
