I have had a ticket for three weeks and haven't heard a word, an email, nothing.

My user name has a "+" in it. In some pages of my profile, the + appears in the userame, and I have finds, and hides etc. In other pages, the + disappears, and I have no find or hides. It's really frustrating when you log a find on this site, and then check my finds and they don't appear on your username.

Would love some help.
Oops, that's my fault, sorry.

+ in your username is going to cause MAJOR issues, we can't work around it.

Even if we change your GCA username all your cacher profile stats & graphs and other links on this site that use your GC cachername will still break.

The only solution that is 100% effective is to change you usernames on both sites.

Sorry about the lack of response, I have no excuse other than I forgot to follow it up, it's been a rough month in the real world.

Thanks for the reply.

I understand the issue with non-alphanumeric symbols (well, I have lots of geeks and coders that understand it, and explain it in less geeky terms for me)

The fact that my find count in here, look at my sig block of this post, identifies that I have GCA and GC finds, shows that the data is coming across from GC and my GCA finds are logging, but my profile on the GCA site does not work.

My head Geek tells me it is simply that the field for username in the database is set to something other than "text". If the field is set to text, "+" is just another bit of text. If it is set to numeral, then the "+" symbol becomes a "plus" and then it tries to do the sum, causing error.

The fact that some pages work and others do not would indicate that there is a mix of field types for "username" in your database.

Sorry, incorrect.
The problem is the URL that is constructed.
A + in a URL is seen as a space, so we can't match your username.

OK, so the database is fine, which is why my stats appear some places but not others.

Its the url for the site that breaks because of the +.

I'm no geek, just have lots that work for me. I think I get it.

Can you please change my GCA username to Champs2Monkeys so I can atleast see my GCA stats

Cheers for that.

Thanks Craigrat

All +'s are gone. See if things start working for me.

You need to align your forum and cacher names.
http://geocaching.com.au/my/settings/
Cacher Name
Set it (case sensitive) and all the planets should then align.

If you log a cache on GC initially as a note, and that log imports to GCA, and you subsequently change the note to a found it log, does a new import update the status on GCA?

Should do, yes.
If you DELETE it and make a new log, the old one is not removed though.

Can you check what I've done wrong with my import for GCJP16 (Woof Woof) then please?

It's a virtual, so I waited until I got permission to log a find, but I did log a note to keep my finds for the day in order (I know that's very anal of me). I got my email permission yesterday, updated my log last night & imported the gpx file this morning (along with a few others from that trip). All the others are fine, but Woof Woof is still only showing as a note.

You asked the wrong question.

Does the log type update if you import it MANUALLY? No.
Does the log type update if it's part of the daily feed? Yes.

What can happen is you import the log and it updates.
Then someone else imports and older GPX file and the log gets changed back to a note.

Whoops.
So the log type will only update through the feed as we know that's the latest data.

Check in a couple of days and if it's wrong, let me know and I'll fix it manually.

Thanks. That makes sense.

There was at least one benefit to my manual import - a few of the logs from around the time of the Albury mega didn't get imported, my import brought those ones over :) .

This is not a site issue as such - probably a me being unable to find it issue

I am sure in the past there was a graph of highest finders for each state for each month. There was a master list and then a breakdown to smaller sharts to make reading easier.

I can't find this chart - has it gone or am I simply looking in the wrong place?

It's temporarily gone as it was driving our system too hard. It will be back when we get more RAM.
