Great idea, really interested, hope there is enough caravan park sites nearby that do allow pets to get more cachers to attend!

Also, I don't think that you need 2 nights of live entertainment to attract a crowd. The Boat adventure will do that.
Most people are happy with just 1 night of music if the last night is more of a socialising night to chat about the weekend!
Especially if the tribute band is fantastic, then the Sunday night band will be less attended and less remembered.

just food for thought.

You need a band made up of geocachers who are attending the event

Just one small point, while I find to lure of a Munzee rich area and a GCA Pathtag event an awesome prospect... make sure when you do list on GC.com there is ZERO reference to either or the Thought Police will yank your listing ;)
Thanks for the tip, will do..

Have fun, though.
Thanks for the good wishes, It was not my preference..... I wanted pets to attend but unfortunately to have it in the area that is close to where we're having the boating events and GSWW hike geocaches, none of the available places to hold the event allow pets because of the national parks restrictions. But I decided to go ahead.

Pets are allowed at this park at managers discretion only a short distance from event site of about 2kms..

http://www.rivervupark.com.au/

Just no pets onsite at the event..

However, we're holding another large event in July 2013 and pets will be allowed at that event.. however i can't give too many details on that yet.. Cheers

The Saturday night show is a great act, I'll link to them soon.. the Sunday night act will not be music.. and will suit a more laid back
social atmosphere.. so I totally agree with you in many ways.. Sunday will be a lot more "have a laugh" sort of setup.. compared to
the Sing along get up n' dance Saturday night setup..

Also found a caravan park located about 2kms from event that appears to allow pets.. details here.

Would seriously like to do something like that if we could get enough serious people interested at a future event..

Hi,

This is onsite accommodation available in buildings at the camp.

Each Dormitory style room (6 Available of this type) will accommodate up to 4 people in bunk style beds.

One Room (1 Available of this type) will accommodate up to 8 people in bunk style beds.

The other Dormitory rooms (8 Available of this type) are inside the main building but each has it's own
toilet & shower, so you don't need to walk to the outside toilet / shower block.

I toured the location today and am posting photo's online with the available accommodation onsite.

Thanks for the enquiry.
James

Good luck with the event - unfortunately as it is not being held on a long weekend, we are unlikely to be able to attend.

I hope it goes well for you but I won't be attending. We can't have a social beer in the evening onsite? That's just silly. Sounds like the wowsers convention. I didn't notice any problems with people getting pissed at the recent mega and causing problems.

I could add that I hate the Beatles so the band isn't an attraction - though I am happy to accept that different people like different music. Also my next trip to Adelaide will hopefully include time to do a tour through the Flinders, and January is not the right time.
