Re: BIG Little Geocaching Event
Better off NOT being a MEGA now
_6. Mega-Event Caches
Further, our publication of the Mega-Event cache provides exposure to millions of geocachers on Geocaching.com and through our weekly newsletter. In consideration of the significant resources we devote to publicizing the Mega-Event, we require listing-service exclusivity on all Mega-Events. We reserve the right to refuse to publish or to retract publication of any Mega-Event that includes as a sponsor a competing geocache listing service._
Keep it a BIG Event instead

Ooooh!!! That DOES sound great! I normally spend the australia day weekend down at anglesea (....it's in the same area-ish!), so this could be TOO convedient!!!
Re: BIG Little Geocaching Event
So will this event be listed on GC.com or GCA.com?
It sounds like it could be a whole lot of fun.

Re: BIG Little Geocaching Event
At the moment GC won't let us list it due to no more than 6 months in advance rule, but we asked nicely if we can to allow time for
overseas visitors to organise flights etc..
Are we able to list it on both GC & GCA??
Thanks. We've got more info up on the website and I can say if you like The Beatles you'll want to come Saturday night.

We don't encourage dual listing, but it's up for you.jgc3 wrote:Are we able to list it on both GC & GCA??
If you have any plans on it becoming a little bigger than big then you might find dual listing WILL hurt your chances of becoming something bigger (see Zal's post above)........

Re: BIG Little Geocaching Event
List on GC to get the most attendees, and if you want list an ancillary event on GCA. I think the pathtag event at the latest mega was a GCA one.
Don't dual list the event if you want it to be a mega, as logs made here rather than GC won't count towards the numbers attended to make it a mega.

Re: BIG Little Geocaching Event
Thanks, a pathtag or similar event from GCA might be a good idea if there's interest on here to do so.. I'm certainly open to it..Richary wrote:List on GC to get the most attendees, and if you want list an ancillary event on GCA. I think the pathtag event at the latest mega was a GCA one.

Re: BIG Little Geocaching Event
Looks Great! We will try to make it if we are in the country.
Just one small point, while I find to lure of a Munzee rich area and a GCA Pathtag event an awesome prospect... make sure when you do list on GC.com there is ZERO reference to either or the Thought Police will yank your listing
