Most DNFs in One Day
The other day rogerw3 and I travelled around the northwest of Sydney, south only as far as Richmond, checking up on various newly published trigs.
In the end, many of those old trigs were found to have disappeared off the face of the earth. So by the end of the day, we DNFed 10 trigs -- plus one GC traditional that happened to be on our route.
Mind you, we made some 12 successful finds that day as well!
Anyhow, I thought this might be a good topic for discussion.
What's your record number of DNFs in a single day of geocaching? Can anyone beat eleven? If so, please share your story!
Or tell us about your worst day for DNFs of any number . . .

If I had that many, I think I would've given up a long time ago...

Interesting! Not the kind of thing you remember... more the kind you try to forget. Im guessing mine is 6 or 7... as the good Princess said, after that, I probably would have given up

8. Started the day with 4 finds then none. To far from home to quit but haven't been back there.

There you go. I knew it was in the 30's. Given we were all together on the day those stats should be the same. Looks like some of us missed our logs on a few.caughtatwork wrote:http://geocaching.com.au/stats/cachers/ ... single_day

Thanks!caughtatwork wrote:http://geocaching.com.au/stats/cachers/ ... single_day
That makes me feel a lot better.
Even 11 in one day was starting to get a bit discouraging . . .
The GCA stats generator never lets us down!

Re: Most DNFs in One Day
after looking at the act stats....clearly it was less than 6!
Knowing me, i'd give up logging every single DNF after that stage!

Re: Most DNFs in One Day
That must have been a cache run where you gave yourself just a few minutes to find the cache and then moved on.Big Matt and Shell wrote: I log all my DNF's
We had a bad run of DNF's in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie area last week, but also came across a heap of totally saturated caches that are not being maintained. It looks like there was a rush of cachers a couple of years ago who have now got over the game and moved on leaving trash all over the place

This is why you are my idol. I too try to log them all but still end up logging a few retrospectively from the early "I'm too embarrassed to log a DNF" days.
I did do 7 DNF in a row in Wollongong on really easy ones (just ask Sol, Fitzy and ZZ7 who helped me clean them up on the next trip)
