Hi there Rainbowseeker71,
GC is the world wide caching group. GCA is the Australian group. GC caches will be collected and added to your total finds with GCA if you join GCA. (free)
Some people put caches only with GCA others do both some do only GC.. It is your choice.

Frogs are just that frogs.... no actually they are a part of a yearly GCA activity run in Dec/Jan... A theme is chosen and movable caches are created to meet the theme. They are then placed found moved placed in a new spot and the cycle continues. There are prizes for all sorts of silly things. Last year the theme was gnomes :gnome this year is was frogs :frog . Many people have left the gnomes and frogs as active caches even though the event (race) is officially over.

Hope this clarifies some of the mystical language you have come across.
Welcome to the pastime/hobby/mania/obsession.... what ever you like to call it.

Thank you
It has helped big time. My husband thought the idea was stupid until he found his first one and now I get him to drive so I can be out of the car first \:D/
One day I hope to hide my own but in the mean time will continue to find
thanks again

Glad to see that you got quick assistance here at the Forum.

You'll find that there are still a great many Leap Frogs still 'out there' since the event ended.

Wait and see what will happen from December 1st onwards this year!

Hope you'll enjoy your geocaching, both GC and GCA.

I see you are in Adelaide - they are a friendly bunch over there (I used to live there) and they have a pub lunch or dinner event about every 6 weeks.

Keep an eye out and head along to one if you get the chance, you will meet some very nice people and can ask lots of questions.
