Yep, there's one just near Circular Quay railway station that you ought to be able to get with an overnight train journeyMtnLioness wrote:I don't seem to have a problem with it loading.......
Could someone please have mercy on a user of public transport and stick a Gnome on a Train line so I can get it?

Well I met hgl today and he's off home with a nice Sydney gnome. Maybe he'll put him near a railway line if you ask him nicely?MtnLioness wrote:Gee.....Thanks Smartie Bum!blossom* wrote:Yep, there's one just near Circular Quay railway station that you ought to be able to get with an overnight train journeyMtnLioness wrote:I don't seem to have a problem with it loading.......

OMG..... that's funny! Can't wait to see if someone finds this. Imagine chasing a train and trying to flag down the driver....... I wonder if rail security will find him first???pwags wrote:If you come to Melbourne, you can try this one!MtnLioness wrote:I don't seem to have a problem with it loading.......

The page still takes a while to load while it grabs and recalculates the distances for each gnome.

I've removed the image generation. I had no idea there would be so many gnomes.pwags wrote:It's been so good to see all of the gnome activity over the last couple of days. I hope to gnab a few over the weekend.
A suggestion:
With so many entries in this race, the ladder on cachinggames.com takes FORRRREEEEVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR to load, due to all of the banners in the last column having to render. This makes it very difficult to scroll down to the bottom of the ladder to read the details, as the page keeps moving as each banner loads. For me, this is taking up to two minutes each time I view the ladder.
As the info in each banner is effectively redundant (it's already in the previous columns, except for the cache name), would it be worthwhile "turning off" the banners for this race, and replacing them with a simple text version of the cache name, linked to the cache page? Would this allow the ladder to load more quickly? It might also save a bit of bandwidth on the server, and on our mobile broadband plans!
What do others think about this idea?

Re: The Moving Cache Race for 2010/2011
There are over 200 gnomes racing around the country.
I'm overwhelmed by the response this year.
I might have to capture one or two to take the US next week
Of course they may sit there for a month before I get to bring them back but they will accumulate some significant distance points.
Anyone want to offer a bribe?

If you take one of my gnomes with you, I'll custom make a gnome costume for you! Then you won't have any pesky questions on the plane when you carry it on and insist it has the seat next to you; obviously it is your son!
