Around 3 hours to auto-publish time.
This is what you can seek come midnight tonight.
There are around 45 physical caches and 100 or so virtual caches in both urban area as well as sensitive or remote areas where physical cache placement may be problematic.

Re: Burke & Wills Project
Yeah, we even arranged one in Hobart. Interesting historical connection there.

Now if only I had the time and money to do the whole trek from one end to the other. Would be a great fun trip. Who can do it first, that would be worth a special prize!

Now that's one mighty PowerTrail!
How do you get a GPX file of just the B&W caches?

Re: Burke & Wills Project
You'll see that a new cache type has been created for the B&W series, so it's very easy to set up a query, listing only these caches.pprass wrote:How do you get a GPX file of just the B&W caches?
blossom* has already built a query if you want to use that one: http://geocaching.com.au/my/query/screen/2635
Happy exploring!

http://geocaching.com.au/my/query/zip/2635 ZIP
Or you can set up your own My Query and select to include only Burke & Wills cache types. It you also select physical cache containers, you can avoid the virtuals if you dislike them. i.e. The Virtual B&W caches all have a size of "virtual". Anything else should be a physical cache.

I've just been looking through what's been put in place. To all involved I have to say that you have done a great job.
Special mention to caught@work for his efforts in getting it all off the ground.

Just out of interest... and because I'm too lazy to go through each cache just yet... and having all of October off... ... can you actually follow pretty much a road cache to cache on this series or will navigation be a lot more involved then that? ie Do I need a camel or will a car / 4x4 surffice and be able to do a pretty striaght line?!

A road? No.
Multiple roads? Yes.
Camel? May be handy.
4WD? Probably.
They didn't just head up the Hume y'know
http://geocaching.com.au/my/query/gmap/2557 should give you an indication of the route to take.

Re: Burke & Wills Project
Actually that is not as bad as I anticipated. Some look very difficult, but most seem reachable given time and care... hmmm I smell a plan hatching....
Re: Burke & Wills Project
A good book for background reading is "The Dig Tree" by Sarah Murgatroyd. Came about 2002 I think. Its a bit of a warts and all retelling of the expedition.
Anyhow looking forward to doing a few in a couple of weeks in Melbourne.
