Garmin Adds Multicache Support in Latest Beta
Re: Garmin Adds Multicache Support in Latest Beta
Tried the beta on my 450 and it's now bricked. Same has happened to others on the GC thread. Have tried three levels of firmware reset with no luck, so off to Garmin repair, AGAIN!
Re: Garmin Adds Multicache Support in Latest Beta
It lets you do all types. It displays any child waypoints on screen and let's you add your own. (Since v4 it even lets you edit them )glyn(the only one) wrote:is the iophone app coming out with a multi function?
at the moment it appears that you can only do trads, am I right?
If you are only seeing Trads you need to go into the app settings and set it to show all types (Menu -> Settings -> Search Filter, set to Show All)
Hope that helps

Beta = Run, don't walk!
(Mind you it's not nearly as bad a GS's Alpha Wherigo Software)

Uploaded it my Oregon 300 and used it all yesterday - and all ok
I like the filter feature that enables you to filter your caches on the fly. The multi "next stage" feature works but I would like to see it expanded.
I would like to see a change to the "active cache" (/Next stage) that still allows the closest cache to be identified as you travel to the next stage or cache.
It is a beta - and feels like a beta in parts. I had one instance where the map did not update as I moved - I zoomed out and in and it fixed it. Also at one point when navigating to a cache I zoomed out and it went to the main screen.
Other than that it is fine...

I updated to the latest firmware, and suddenly my Oz Topo maps don't work.
Is this a problem with the latest beta too?

G'day Ian-and-Penny.
I have topo Australia v2 and it was working OK on the Oregon 450t after I loaded the beta.
I ran the Beta yesterday and all seems to be working fine.l

Hearing you on that one...team unicycle wrote:the inability to review and edit cache attempt notes
Nothing worse than pressing mark as found and then realising that you forgot to put in description or worse, wanting to change it...
But...
We updated the Dakota 20 on Saturday morning and love the update.

Hi Ian,
Topo Australia v2 is from Garmin. It has the 10m elevation data that allows you to do the 3d thing.
OzTopo is another company.

Oztopo will not work on any of the latest unit software/Mapsource/Basecamp updates.ian-and-penny wrote:I updated to the latest firmware, and suddenly my Oz Topo maps don't work.

To get it working you will have to re-insall some later software version.
