We will be there on Visiting day (9/1/10) too, to visit Geoson/Scout. We put our registration in a bit late, but we still got accepted, so it may not be too late, especially if you have a son or daughter going.

I'll wear my Geocaching cap and see if anyone says hello. Might be fun to find a cache or two, inside or outside.

Hmm, I wonder who that well known Melbourne cacher is?

I wonder if by setting up the GCA Event Cache - GA1702 for the Jamboree that will give away which lanky cacher is being referred to.

As always, the fun part of the Jamboree events is seeing a number of cachers identified in person, and finding out that there's quite an overlap with Scouting!

Note that though I've picked a spot (just outside my Jamboree office - I'm Radio Station Manager for JNN 103.7FM) for the event, that may not be the final location, so more details will be posted back here soon.

Just today, we attended a parents briefing regarding AJ2010. (Got home late and missed the movable cache 700m from our door). It's going to be a gigantic (scouting) event and I believe something like 12,000 visitors are expected on the 9th. Should be a cacher or two amongst them I would think.

Thanks Patrick - See you there.

Our allocated arrival time is 1200. I expect our first duty will be to find Geoson and maybe join him or the troop (422) for lunch, so we could probably not make it earlier than 1300. A late or flexible event time would suit us.

Spent part of this morning planning for our week stay somewhere south of AJ2010. Lots of nice hidey holes. Daughter is in Troop 414.

We're staying around Mittagong (1/2 hr south of Jamboree) for the week, leaving the 11th to go back home. Happy to meet up with anyone pre/post event for dinner or drinks anytime. Ph number on profile. Won't be caching much, there to see the sights & if there's a cache, we'll go for it.

See you all down there - Geoff

I can't wait to get there and meet u all....

Could we have a get together on the second evening? (5/1/10 7pm) suggestions as to where could be the same as the event cache????

I am thinking of a caching inside cataract in an informal fashon (not in camps but could be fun for those captive on site) with co-ords on a white board or the like????

There is a geocaching activity already being run inside the camp. I volunteered my services to the organiser, but I did not ever hear back from him... I am quite interested to see how he pulled it all together!

I saw the event and registered but thought that is several days in. I though a getogether and maybe some on site caching could be fun in the evenings. just not in camp sites. It would be a limited affair as scout would not have brought their GPS (we hope).

Cheers

I meant to hide a couple of caches yesterday whilst I was up at Cataract, but I ran out of time. Hopefully they will make it out of the car this evening!

Hi Hoojar,

best wishes,

Posted last night, but it seems the forum didn't like it.

In short: Taylorbrats will be there - two of us in Troop #108 - See you at the event. :)
