Sounds like good fun. We'll get a cache ready.

I clicked on the create button experimentally and it asked me for a "Waypoint ID". Is this the name of the cache? What form should it take?

Thanks

The waypoint ID is the cache ID. e.g. GA1234
That links the game back to GCA to get the data.

I have hid one yesterday and I just want to know if I could set it up on the site and not publish it till December 1 or wait to put it on the internet.

Stringy, you set all the deatils up here on GCA with the description etc. Put the "hidden" date as 1/12/2009 and save it all etc. This way, you will get the GA number that you can use on the game site. Then you go to your cache page and create a "publish" log with a date of 1/12/2009 and it will automatically be published on the right date.

If you read theough this thread you will see c@w has given a step by step instruction on how to publish you cache here- it's a pretty good guide to follow.

Anyway, once you have done that, you will have the GA code to enter the game. I've done mine and it worked just as it should. Good luck! I promise if you move my cache once, I'll move yours too :D

Hang on Stringy- is Tinonee up the North Coast? I'm not driving THAT far, you'll have to get it down to Sydney first! But maybe some holiday makers will do that for you with a bit of luck

Well thanks for the info.

I actually might be coming to Sydney in mid December to Blacktown.

But no need to worry blossom* I've notified all geocachers in my area about the cache race. \:D/

Is a 50mL container considered micro or small?

From this page in the wiki:
http://wiki.geocaching.com.au/wiki/Cache_size

Micro (35 mm film canister or smaller – less than approximately 3 ounces or .1 litres -- typically containing only a logbook)

50ml is less than 100ml, so I would say, based on this standard, 50ml is micro.

I'm getting my cache ready, but I'm in a turmoil of where to place it.... I live on the Fleurieu Penninsular, but work near Adelaide. I think it would have a better chance of being moved if it was put down closer to the City [-o< . I've had a drive around today and found some possible places but nothing really interesting....... so will have to keep on looking :-k

Thanks caughtatwork. Our cache is ready to go now. Perhaps that button should say "Add" or something similar, instead of "Create"?

BTW - Are the 5 prizes for "random cachers who move a game piece", available to geocachers who are not registered to play the game? I image the caches may be found by non-players occasionally, perhaps even during the game.

OK - I'm in! Cache is hidden and listed, ready for release on 01/12.

I've taken a very different approach to hiding this cache. Normally I like to make my caches challenging, and don't give away too many obvious hints in the listing. But this time I actually WANT it to be found, hence I've set up a cache that can be located relatively easily, and given a lot of details and instructions to potential finders/re-hiders. Of course I have to balance that with the the chance of it being muggled - a very fine line to tread. \:D/

This will be interesting... looking forward to 1st December!
