Visiting Sydney, Snowies, Canberra Nov 15-23
Visiting Sydney, Snowies, Canberra Nov 15-23
I'm so excited for my trip! We are Arriving on November 15th and traveling to the snowies through the 18th. There had been previous interest in a possible meetup with people in Canberra on the 18th in the evening- are people still interested? Please let me know. I will have limited internet whilst there so I'd like to get everything planned before hand. After the 18th we will be in Sydney the rest of the time, taking day trips to the blue mtns and hunter valley area for some wine.
If I'd had enough time I would have posted an event but alas no time left for an official one. I'll be bringing a bag full of travel bugs, geocoins and pathtags to share and drop off during our trip and I'd love to meet as many cachers as I can!
If you are interested drop a note here or via my profile page here or on Gc.com.

There is also some interest from here http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewtopi ... &start=135
I was thinking somewhere central like Regatta Point

Re: Visiting Sydney, Snowies, Canberra Nov 15-23
Yes, somewhere central and easier to navigate to would be good. By the time we get to Canberra we will have become expert left-side drivers, LOL.
Regatta Point looks good, I think it's on our route through the city on our way home to Sydney. We just got our maps for our GPS so we should be able to find it alright, not to mention the pre-planning I'm doing while here home still.
I can see Canberra is a town of many Puzzle caches. ARG! I hate puzzles!!

sorry is this a evening or lunch time meet? Regatta point only open till 3pm, I would suggest the Yacht club by the lake perhaps.

Hi there,
I will try it make it on the 18th barring family responsibilities. I'll watch this space for further developments. Might have a few coins or TBs to hand over to you if you are happy.
Cheers,
Rob.

Is there a fee at all at the yacht club? Would we be indoors or out, and eating?
Re: Visiting Sydney, Snowies, Canberra Nov 15-23
I don't think there is fee to get into the club - I think you just sign in as a visitor. There are indoor and outdoor areas and the club has meals as well.
Do you know roughly what time you will be through Canberra?

Just noticed there is another Canberra geochachers get together happening on the same evening as a farewell to RexTrex http://forum.geocaching.com.au/viewtopi ... =13396).
Is there a chance this could be combined for greater numbers? Just a thought.
Cheers,
Rob.

Ah good catch on the other get together. I'm sure we would be able to make it there by that time. So far I have collected three bugs and one coin to travel, and I have a bunch of my own I'll be bringing as well.
Re: Visiting Sydney, Snowies, Canberra Nov 15-23
So let me get this right guys... you decided nearly a week ago to hijack a get together that I organised with a specific purpose in mind, and no one has yet let me know that you're doing this? It didn't occur that a pm might be a nice touch?

Sorry Winglen,
My original post just pointed out that there was two meets happening on the same evening and I asked whether it was worth looking into it. My initial email was no way intended to hijack any occasion, merely pointing out that some cachers may be conflicted in choosing between the two.
Cheers,
Rob.
