Magpies

Post by agap2 » 27 August 09 5:21 pm

Heard my first story of a magpie attack today (for this year), so I thought I would post a note for everyone to remember to be careful.

Back to the feathered variety, and yes, coming into spring, geocaching on pushbike can end with beaks and feathers to the head. not fun.

Oh No!

Going to Canberra tomorrow and making sure I wear a big hat and maybe even take an umbrella. There are plenty of maggies down there so here's hoping there's no swooping.

Over the years I've been subject to many bike riding swoops :(

I might report back next week.

No encounter on the geocycle to date but I have observed a few others being attacked this week

One thing I dislike about this time of year is the black and white colours.

Might have to add that into the calculations of where I go caching for the next couple of months!

I take my decoy dog with me.
They seem to go for her before me. Then again, she is usually making a lot more noise than me and will try to chase them. Thinks it's great fun.

I ended up doing 50 Canberra caches on Saturday and pleased to say no swoops. Perhaps it was the umbrella I took along for some protection
