2009 Cyber Flash Mob Topic “Positive Caching Experience”
Welcome to the “2009 Cyber Flash Mob Event”. Great to have you all here
To gain a smiley for this event all you have to do is post at least one, relevant comment on this topic before 8:15 AEST tonight. Then go to GA1527 and log your attendance.
A “Positive Caching Experience” can be anything to do with caching that you have enjoyed, or others have gotten enjoyment from.
I’ll get the ball rolling by saying that we get particular enjoyment from reading good descriptive logs (either negative or positive) on caches that we have place, we also enjoy introducing new people to caching, and watching their obsession levels rise.
Enjoy the event
Team Fuddley
Note: when you log you attendance please add your approx coords to the "add waypoint" box on the log page, this will enable use to get an idea of where everyone is from.
For the record this is the final position on the forums:
Most users ever online was 123 on 10 August 09 8:07 pm
Wheeeeeeeee!

Convincing my other half to go for a nice stroll around a park in Amaroo, as our first caching experience, soon after we moved to Canberra.

The last best I can think of was finding anothers cachers lost pair of reading glasses in the grass and returning them especially since the cache was last found 14 weeks before the lost glasses and it was four weeks till I visited the cache. John ( Youngoldfella)

We get a positive caching experience when we are taken to new places which are picturesque and quiet - makes us feel good being alive and well.
Re: 2009 Cyber Flash Mob Topic “Positive Caching Experience”
A positive caching experience I have is when I take my grand-children out caching with me. It is fun to see them want to hold and work out the GPS and then when we get to GZ their searching for the cache. They love looking at the treasure and doing swaps and talk about different locations we have been to while geocaching.
Re: 2009 Cyber Flash Mob Topic “Positive Caching Experience”
My "positive experiences" are finding a cache that the owner has obviously put a bit of thought into - whether it be a very cleverly designed cache, cleverly hidden cache, or a multi that takes you to several good locations. Just last night I found a very clever cache container, that obviously took some work to make. I also enjoy getting positive comments on my own caches.
Cheers for coming up with a unique concept for this "event"!

Mine was meeting new people and going to new and interesting places
Re: 2009 Cyber Flash Mob Topic “Positive Caching Experience”
There are so many to choose from. But in the end, it comes down to this: 2.5 years ago I'd drive around a park 3 times to see if there was a closer entrance than 160m to the cache. These days, I don't even flinch when I have to walk a few k.

Anytime when you go somewhere interesting that you wouldn't have gone to without caching.

Mine would be yesterday. Achieved the 100 goal.
Chose Bushrangers Cave in Newcastle area. Great location which requires a bit of effort to get to but it is the history. The cave was used by a Bushranger called Jewboy thus the name Jewboys Cave.
He and his gang used the cave around 1840's. Looked into the history. Very interesting. A great Cache by Groovychook.
A must for anyone visiting the Newcastle area.

I love being taken to amazing places that I never knew existed, in my own "Backyard"! And a great bunch of friendly Tassie cachers!

Our thing is gaining a new appreciation for places we might have already been to or not visited yet. Sometimes hunting for small plastic boxes in the bush has taken us to places we might not have otherwise considered visiting.
