Hi Caught at work,
Any chance you can work your updating magic on the listing Heart of Yorke(GC1MV9E) and June Event Dinner(GC1Q8G7). If we are trying to demonstrate how many people we can get to an event it might be of assistance if the front page of this site gives a true indication of what numbers are coming to an event . It will show the sort of numbers an indivdual state can pull to an event.

Cheers from Parrot and thankyou.

**Update**

Thank you it looks good. Looks like we can get big numbers to events.

Just a gentle bump to get this one back in the spot light.

I'm really looking forward to this!
Three questions for you, though, and I did check the website above but couldn't find any further information about the Kurrajong Reserve.
1. The Marble, Dizzyanne and I would probably like one of the 4-bed bunk rooms. How do we go about booking that, and is there electricity in the rooms at all? Also, would we be likely to have a fellow geocacher joining us in the 4th bed?
2. Is there a camp kitchen of some kind there, or just the BBQ facilities?
3. Do you know if we can get internet access in the area?

Thanks for setting this up :) Kedi

Thanks La Kedi for the keen interest.
The Kurrajong Reserve is not on the W.W.C.C. website as it a smaller reserve before you enter the Scout Camp where most of the Camping and events will occur.
1. There will be up to 81 forms of bunk beds available at the camp.
One igloo ... which has 11 single beds.
Stenhouse ... 5 rooms, with 4 beds in each (d-bunks)
Also 6 units ... 8 beds in each (bunks),
plus one room of 2 ... a total of 81.
You can just see some of these in the pics on page one of this topic. There is electricity in these rooms.

There will be more details when Registration for the event is open. Sharing of rooms may occur.

2. There is only one large camp kitchen hall, this will be occupied by those who are cooking for the event.
You can see this on page one too. A few BBQ spots may be available, but the details have not been decided.

3. Internet access is in the pipeline for the event with some help by Richary of Sydney. :D

If we can get 3G coverage at the site from any of the networks we should be able to get wireless internet access. If one of the locals can check it would be helpful. Optus preferred as that is who work uses and I can probably just use one of our cards, otherwise we have to negotiate with Telstra or Virgin which isn't a show stopper just a bit more work.

The alternative is a point to point link back to someone's house in Wagga where we can get a 3G signal if there is any line of sight.

I know the coverage maps are often of dubious accuracy, however Optus claim to have cover a fair way out of Wagga.

I think it is sort of borderline looking at the maps, not that I know the exact location. Not that it stops me putting an antenna on a big mast in the hope of getting a better signal! As long as there is something there.

Something can be organised I am sure.

Should attend, probably two at this stage, working out logistics. No car. Fun!

edited 30/12/09 to add: Make that an almost definite; 2 people, camping (wicked camper, woo! p.s. will make sure to get a tame one.)
