I received an email to say my request has been received. I will be contacted to finalise my Geo Rep status.
I guess I'll have to wait and see if it goes through.

Sometime over the last week my kit turned up. A bright red "waterproof" container that I don't know if I trust to be waterproof, a small logbook that will hold about 20 logs and a card.
I will test the container before I deploy it (if I do, it's not really camo - might just use a normal one). Or as the letter implies just use an existing cache to place the card.

How do these caches get around the guidelines for advertising?

There not advertised as "FindMe" caches. There not themed as a Findme Caches either. There just a normal cache with a branded item in it. Branded items are put into caches all the time. I have a Garmin branded coin in my possession, originally used as a competition. That's just one example of many branded items put into a cache for the same reason these FindMe cards are.
