Damn, I wish I'd seen that before I updated last night...McPhan wrote:Maybe a look at this before updating to 2.7 or 2.8

Mind you, the majority of problems appear to be with the automotive profile, which I don't anticipate using. I think I'll have a bit of a play around now, and see if any of those problems rear their ugly heads, though.

Got myself an Oregon 300 for Christmas, what a great toy. Don't get me wrong the old Etrex has served us well and cost nothing, with nearly 600 finds under it's belt, but after doing only 11 caches with the Oregon, the Etrex is now well and truly put to rest.
One question (and I kwon I have seen the answer somewhere) How many caches will the Oregon hold?
I have a 2Gb card installed, with about 930mb of maps, so have plenty of space.
Thanks in advance.

After forgetting to charge the NavPin and having to reinstall all the software and then create the queries and all the rest of the aggro involved we have seen the need to upgrade to an Oregon. (see Snuva, didn't take me long to convince Sirius I needed a new GPS).
So now my question is where do I buy one for the best price and fastest delivery? I want it now (she pouts).
Cheers Quilter

Got an upgrade for christmas and have to say love the feature especially the Field notes function and am not missing having to have a PDA for the log notes and hints
The only draw back is the back light ...its a lttle too dim for my liking even after adjusting the map profile
Got mine from RYDA.com with very fast delivery

There is no inbuilt averaging.....however, there is this Wherigo cartridge which will put averaging on your Oregon.

Got one from Cartographics a couple of days ago and loving it. Its a big step up from the Old Foretrex, that's for sure.
Just a question about invibleshields, I had a look at zagg.com and all looked great, added an Oregon shield and a couple of camera shields to the basket, went to checkout and it wants to charge me $68USD for shipping alone
Is there any other alternative place to buy these things? No way am I paying that much for shipping!!!
