Well after only a couple of days of voting it continues to be fairly positive with at least 90% voting Yes or maybe.

As I said an announcement will be made soon and although the plans are only in their infancy at this stage, it shall be one very big event if all the current comments are anything to go by.

Watch this space.................

I'm flat out planning the next day . But I hereby register my in-principal support for my/our in-principal participation. Have never travelled that far for any sort of event (at least under my own funding!) so it is definitely something worth aiming for. Best wishes to the organisers - good on you!

Well the farmers 5 and the local group are happy with the responses so far, so it looks like it is almost time for an announcement.

Not yet, still in planning stages, GC.com have rules for the listing which we are working on. See the announcement in the new Topic on the forum.

All future replies can now be made in the other topic.

Having recently returned from a trip to Wagga and having a BBQ with the organisers last Saturday, all I can say is that they have given this a lot of thought already.

The enthusiasm that they have generated should carry them a long way and the amount of forward planning that they have already put in should ensure this event will be a great one to attend.

I hope to be there and look forward to seeing it all come together

cheers

Just to help (in case something's got confused somewhere along the line, or you are really really new to Australian geography), but the event is going to be in Wagga Wagga, which is in New South Wales (about half way between the big cities of Sydney NSW and Melbourne Victoria, and relatively not far from Canberra, the nation's capital), and this is on the eastern side of Australia but a fair way inland. Tasmania (best spot on the planet) is the beautiful island state to the south of the big bit of Australia ... but the proposed event isn't there. Tassie is sort of the Newfoundland of Australia, and I think I'm entitled to say that as I've lived in both places. Western Australia is way across the western side of the country (think Vancouver, compared to Halifax ... not that Halifax is like Sydney ... although there is a Sydney in Nova Scotia ... but I digress), and it's a tad of a long way to drive, but an adventure in itself. If all this hasn't helped (highly likely), google map it!

Oh, and welcome. :D
oops. yeah I'm new here in WA and Australia too. I just read "Tassie" and made assumptions. It did make for some chuckles at our event last week as everyone there corrected me as well.
Anyway, we are still interested in coming to the event as we have a whole continent to explore.
By the way, I also had my first bbq lambchop on the weekend. How's that for green?

I thought I had replied to this,

yep, add 2 more Queenslanders to the mix. We are combining it with a couple of weeks caching in Tassie.

Cheers

TeamBeanDare is looking in to the logistics and will probably be in for a convoy from the West.
