NSW Council Amalgamations

I'm assuming that the dragonZone borders will need to be redrawn at some point thanks to the NSW council shotgun weddings?

Fewer zones, harder to gain control, will the balance of power change?

I already asked that question when the proposal first came up, and was told Dragons don't worry about such earthly matters. But it's up to C@W to decide that (and probably us Senators). It would obviously require getting the new info for the council boundaries from wherever it was gathered before, and will change as more councils merge.

Pretty much, no.

LGA's were a handy tool for boundaries but are not tied to any new boundary. I may move the DZ's to a new set of zones to make it clear that they are for DZ only.

Yeah I don't think the dragons go in for forced mergers ;) Should let Ryde know... they might want to hire a dragon as they are violently opposed to the mergers!

I'm more than happy with the way it is - keeping to the ancient homelands of the dragons rather than bowing to the follies of men. Maybe one day in the future a newbie will ask "why are the dragonZone boundaries listed as they are" and we will have to share with them the tales of days gone by, before Mikey B changed the landscape :cerberus

I wonder if Project GC wants to be informed about it...
Once the amalgamations are through I will drop him a line.

If anyone finds an ESRI shape file for the new councils, please let me know and I'll import it into the DB.

SIX maps have jumped straight in and amended their LGA boundaries, so the data you need is probably not far behind.

Public shape files are never easy to find but I hope they get put out.
