Re: Report dragonZone issues / problems here
Another question about karma points, we've noticed that finds on our caches don't always earn the same number of karma points. Sometimes it'll be three points, sometimes two points and sometimes only one point for a find on the same cache. Is it supposed to be the same each time a cache has a find logged? Or is it just random?

Re: Report dragonZone issues / problems here
From my understanding the karma points are awarded according to the rank of the finder. The higher up the tree someone is the higher their karma is on your cache. If they just started it is low. If they are not in a clan you will get no karma points.

Our team name seems to have acquired an extra character and no longer shows as a member of the Phoenix clan. sharnie's tribe is reading and logging as sharnie\'s tribe and isn't green anymore! Help

I have also received 70 points for logging in the last two days. Also not complaining.
Can't find any mention of a bonus.

Same here...
Just FYI, when I logged in the message was as per usual. i.e. You have received 3.5 points for logging in. However under the 'points / other' tab in My dragonZone, it shows 70 points has been awarded.

Re: Report dragonZone issues / problems here
I'm actually missing a few dZ points.
How long does it usually take to receive Karma points? 2 of my GCA caches were found on the 9th Aug but are not showing in my points yet.
Also, I noticed that on 15th July I received 74.25 points as a zone control bonus. On Friday I managed to bring another zone (Tweed NSW) under Griffin control but have not seen any bonus points for that. Was this because I used a dZ bag item to do so, or was the July 15th one a one-off?

If the cachers who found your caches were not dragonZone members, you will not receive any Karma points. If they were dragonZone members, let us know the cache numbers (GAxxxx) and we'll look into.
Using a dZ bag item to take control a cache will not result in any cache or zone bonus. It only applies with your 'find' points.No_Tomorrow wrote: ↑11 August 19 8:18 amAlso, I noticed that on 15th July I received 74.25 points as a zone control bonus. Thank you. That explains both.
BTW, thanks for the 70 points over the last couple of days. Who doesn't love a surprise like that.

Obviously my 3.5 was 70. Nice addition and certainly an incentive for everyone to log on every day....Sol de Lune wrote: ↑10 August 19 10:09 amSame here...

I don't think everyone is getting 70 points though. I spoke with someone about it and they only got 10. Still more than usual.

Re: Report dragonZone issues / problems here
70 points is for logging in for 7 days straight. If someone has only scored 10 points, it means that was their first day logging in i.e. they have broken their run of consecutive days logging in.
Log in day 1 = 10 points
Log in day 2 = 20 points
Log in day 3 = 30 points
Log in day 4 = 40 points
Log in day 5 = 50 points
Log in day 6 = 60 points
Log in day 7 = 70 points
Log in day 8 = 70 points
Don’t log in day 9 = no points
Log in day 10 = 10 points
You get to 70 points after logging in for the 7th straight day. Break the run of consecutive days and it’s back to the start (10 points) and you start again.
Moral to the story.....log in every day!!!!

Re: Is there a glitch in Winton DZ calculations?
My first post here, so apologies if it is incorrect format.
Recently having hidden some caches in the Winton DZ I was checking to see which clan owned the zone. As far as I can see, besides the Geocaching Australia trig points there are 7 caches in the zone.
GA 1615 by Delicadriver who does not appear to claim allegiance to any Clan.
GA 12311 by Tassie Trekkers of Minotaur
GA10022 by LuckyL10N of Cerberus
GA10098 LKA Winton by fitzy_1965 Cerberus
and 3 by me Smittengranny also of Cerberus
GA14013, GA14006 and GA13975.
However on State Zone Control Winton, it shows 4 to each Minotaur and Cerberus. Not sure how this could be if there are only 7 caches in all and 1 doesn't belong to a clan.
Could you please explain to me how this system works ?
Cheers in caching and a huge thank you for all the work you do to keep us caching along.

Re: Report dragonZone issues / problems here
This is the Winton dragonZone.
https://geocaching.com.au/zone/caches/2230/gca
https://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga1615 has had a few finders going back to 2014 (nothing before the game started is counted) and their finds have tipped the geocache into Minotaur control. It's not the owner of the geocache, it's which clan assigns the points.
https://geocaching.com.au/cache/ga10022 is jointly controlled by both Minotaur and Cerberus.
If geocachers from other clans start to find you caches, they will move clan control.
