Kiwi Server Donations
In recognition of the level of customisation that has been made to suit New Zealand users (mainly by our friend Caught at Work) the New Zealand Recreational GPS Society has decided to donate AUD$500 towards your server fund raising effort.
Whats more, we're inviting users of our web site to donate as well.
Regards,
Moneydork.
President of The New Zealand Recreational GPS Society Incorporated.

technically it is easy to host (say) geocaching.co.nz and geocaching.com.au on the same codebase on the same server.
the server would just pick up what domain name is being referenced and skin the page accordingly. in fact the codebase already has support for multiple skins so that when it is run on a developer's home computer, the skin changes to something to remind them that they're not on the production server

Suddenly those stupid ANZ bank commercals come to mind about how they support local businesses, although they show the same ad/person on the ad everywhere they change the business names read out, isn't that false/misleading advertising?gmj3191 wrote:A/NZ Geocaching.

I'm happy to consider shared hosting of our two sites www.gps.org.nz and geocaching.com.au It's not such a silly idea.
Our members are donating a bit as well - we have another $100 odd so far, so its all good. I guess its only fair after our trip to Adelaide last year to steal your "most caches in a day" record that we do something to support your site.
A group of us are planning a trip over in about a month time (Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane and what! Sydney again (well, the Blue Mountains the last time). So there may be a chance to catch up with some of you and potentially even hand-deliver our payment!
Cheers,
Wayne.

I'm sure all those people that use GCA from both sides of the Tasman will appreciate your donation. Well done!
