Marcus Vitruvius Gets The Fastest 1000 in Aus

Post by THENANKS » 02 December 07 8:50 pm

We have been watching some amazing numbers being found by M. V and started wondering what his tally was and how long it has taken. Well without putting a link to C @ W site, I can tell you that it has taken less than 6 months. Well done Marcus Vitruvius . Cheers from The Nanks :D

Congratulations

I have seen your logs all over Canberra and when I was visiting Geelong and Werribee we seemed to be following you just on your tail.

Amazing effort - now if I can just win powerball, ignore the family and take long service, I might take your example.

All the best, and glad that your personal circumstances allow this!

:D :D

The Wackys have racked up the fastest 1000 in SA just today - which has taken since August 2006. But 1000 in 174 days - thats truly incredible.

Well done to both Wackys and Marcus V.

first vote for the Australian Geocachers Party which gives all registered cachers an extra day off for caching.
second - win powerball (as stated above)
third - go crazy!!!!

Even more stunning when you realise that they cached on only 83 of those days, and most caches in one day, 68.

Congratulations.

Cheers

Well done. That's an amazing feat for your first 1000. (Your first is usually slower than later ones).

For the record, I discovered that DAK's Emu Mob found 1000 in only 149 days - from 3500 to 4500. (If I had more detail, he may have even done a 1000 in fewer days).

Thats not your first 1000 ! As the record stands now MV did it in 83 days of actual caching

Wow. Thankyou very much for the kind words, and thanks to THENANKS for the thread. I must admit I have probably been caching a bit much lately, but when you love to do something it's hard to say no. I will probably slow down a bit now no doubt, as I wanted to get the 1000 out of the way, and probably knew about record when I was on about 500-600 finds.

I'm sure that the likes of dak and maccamob would own this record had there been the number of caches around when they started, but nonetheless, it's nice to have for a while.

Thanks again.

M.V.

Well Done Marcus. That is an amazing feat in 174 crowded days. (or just 83 as it appears) I'm sure your record will last for some time to come. Oenze and I enjoyed following you around canberra a few weeks back but since then we have slowed down but you obviously have not! Keep those numbers coming. :D :D :D

And to think - we met you only a few months ago when you were a relatively young pup (in geocaching terms).

So considering what you said about your partner and caching when we met - we gather that you are now single :)

Well done Marcus Vitruvius. Hope to see you in the field again some day.

Hurly burly!

I thought feathertop was a racehorse, but you have put him (and everyone else, incidentally) to shame!

Congratulations on the dedication and the achievement. I must admit that I have been wondering when the slowdown will take place.

Cheers,

The projection of M.V's graph is scary.
